Fevola called the demise of Port last weekend, but he's backing them to bounce back against a spirited Essendon team.
Port Adelaide v Essendon
Port were smashed in terms of disposals and marks last weekend but managed to compete on inside 50s and scoring shots. Their loss was a worry, but they can take positives out of the Adelaide clash. Powers defence has been piss-poor this season, shipping 244 points in their two games, Essendon will get the chance to score but don’t see any of their players as a consistent threat.
Power will get up in the opening game of the round, I’ll be kicking back and sipping a cold-one watching Port lead at the end of every corner at a generous $1.45. Obviously Adelaide are the obvious tip but I’m not going to tell you to lump on a $1.16 shot.
I’ve sniffed out a bit value for my player bet this week, young Aaron Young kicked four last weekend when the Crows gave his team a battering. And, as expected Robbie Gray has been Port’s main man in terms of disposals, averaging 31.50 in the opening two rounds. I’m shocked you can get on at $13 for Young to kick three or more and Gray to have 30 disposals against much weaker opposition. I know Young isn’t known at all for his goal-kicking but if he can take any of that form into this match we’re in with a chance.
