Carlton v Geelong

Three more games of footy today, with that comes two pretty easy games to call for the punters. It might not be the best viewing on the box but at least we’re guaranteed some snags this Sunday. The Sunday matches begin with my old boys taking on the impressive Geelong at the Etihad. Both teams come off the back of losses in the last round, Carlton’s winning streak was ended abruptly by a bruising defeat to North Melbourne, whereas the Cats were shocked by Collingwood.

The Cats were sluggish in the opening exchanges last time out, with the quality they possess, don’t expect them to make the same mistake in two weeks. I’m struggling to see anything other than a Geelong win today, the combination of Dangerfield and Selwood is too good to slip up in a game like this. At $1.1 there isn’t much value in tipping the Cats, therefore I’m going to back them to win by 40+ at $1.7.

If you read my tips regularly you’ll know by now I’m a fan of the Tomahawk, the big man can be very dangerous on his day. Last time out he kicked four, which was the fifth time he booted three or more this season. Hawkins has lacked consistency this season, but I’m backing him to string two good games together and kick four or more today at $2.55.
Geelong by 40+ - 1pt @ 1.7
Tom Hawkins - 1pt @ 2.55

Collingwood v Western Bulldogs

The second game of the day is by far the most intriguing. Not only should this be a good spectacle, there is serious value in the market. A huge crowd will be expected at the MCG thanks to Collingwood’s mini revival. A few weeks ago they were in a dire situation, but have accounted for Brisbane and Geelong in the last couple of rounds to ease the pressure on Buckley.

The Bulldogs were sitting pretty before they lost a few players to injury, they’ve slumped to three losses this season, the latest being against GWS. The Dogs have conceded the least amount of goals in the comp this season, this defence will be needed against a Pies team who’ve found their shooting boots, they’ve slotted 257 points in the last two games.

I’m taking on Western Bulldogs today, the Pies have the momentum, whereas the Dogs are showing signs that the wheels might be falling off their finals mission. Collingwood are massively over priced at $2.9, get on!

Injuries to big players has put a lot of pressure on Pendlebury this season, and the boy has handled it. In every game this season he’s had 25+ disposals and three times having 34+. On the MCG he’s a good bet to add another 30+ to his name, get on him to do so at $1.89.
Collingwood - 1pt @ 2.9
Scott Pendlebury - 1pt @ 1.89

West Coast v Gold Coast

Unfortunately for the neutrals, and even more so for Suns fans, this is the easiest game of the round to call. We finish the round at the Domain Stadium, a ground where the Eagles haven’t lost this season. West Coast will be full of it due to their home form, but will be pumped after getting their first points on the road last round against Port.

Everything looks rosy for the Eagles, which can’t be said for Gold Coast. They’ve lost their last six games and have conceded a s**t load of points doing so. With such contrasting records you can’t pick anything other than an Eagles win, and a big one at that. West Coast to win by 69+ at $1.91 is my bet for the game.

Looking for a bit of value, get on Matt Priddis to have over 30 disposals and Jack Darling to kick three or more at $3.8.
West Coast by 69+ - 1pt @ 1.91
Priddie / Darling - 1pt @ 3.8
