Sydney Swans v Hawthorn

Sydney are on show in another game which quite easily by the Grand Final, after last weeks win against Geelong they face stiff opposition in table topping Hawthorn.

What an opening game to the round, Hawthorn site top of the pile, whereas Sydney are in a group of three hot on their tails. This is a tricky interstate game for the Hawks, but after last weekends win against Port they’re two from three when travelling interstate this season.

Sydney won the last fixture, when Hodge was missing and Sam Mitchell went missing. Mitchell looked backed to his best against Port, there were also impressive performances from Hodge and Rioli.

Hawthorn are one of only a few teams in the league who can match-up with Sydney’s midfield. Hannebery, Kennedy and Parker have been too hot to handle for many oppo this season. Another big talking point on Thursday night is Buddy returning to play against his old club. Franklin slotted three against his old teammates in Round 9, but inaccuracy has crept into his game in recent weeks. If he’s on-fire he'll be the difference.

Even with the Franklin threat I’m still siding with Hawthorn tonight, given the run they’re on, they look outstanding value at $2.4. Their last loss was to the Swans, but it will be impossible for Mitchell and co to be that quiet again. The Thursday Night clash will be close, but lap up that value.

Luke Parker looks good value at $2.25 to have 30+ disposals, he just missed out against the Cats but had 34 in their loss to Western Bulldogs.
