Richmond v Essendon

The Tigers will bring up their seventh win of the season this weekend, as I expect them to easily overcome Essendon who still sit bottom of the ladder. Even though Richmond are only playing for pride now, I expect them to be professional enough to record another victory.

Tigers come off the back of a loss to the Bulldogs, however they were impressive in attack and looked like they had a point to prove to the rest of the league. Essendon on the other-hand, didn’t actually stink last time out. They narrowly lost to the Saints, and should have probably got over the line as they missed good opportunities in the last. Even though they missed quite a few, they scored pretty well for the Bombers, however Richmond’s a very different task compared to Saint Kilda.

Richmond won this game in Round ten and will do in Round seventeen, the $1.35 on offer for the Tigers to be winning at half-time and full-time is a small price but an absolute banker. Dustin Martin stole the show last time these two met, he recorded 38 possessions. Since that fixture he’s played five games, and on four occasions having 32+ disposals. Get on him to have 35+ today at $2.2.
Richmond/Richmond - 1pt @ 1.35
Dustin Martin - 1pt @ 2.2

North Melbourne v Port Adelaide

The Kangaroos 32 point loss to the Eagles was their fourth in a row, despite that they’re still favourites against Port Adelaide. Port themselves come off a 22 point loss to Hawthorn, but last time they came to Melbourne they were comfortable winners against the Pies.

Even though the Power can probably match-up with North in the midfield, they can’t in the forward line. North are a much better team with the ball, and have quality kickers up top. I expect North to get the points, $1.38 for them to win is a bit short, take the $1.8 on offer for them to be up at half-time and win.

Ben Cunnington has had a few off weeks lately, but he’s still a serious player. He showed what he’s capable of in Round 10 against Sydney, in a game which could see a good midfield battle he’s serious value at $5.5 to have 30+ disposals.
North Melbourne / North Melbourne - 1pt @ 1.8
Ben Cunnington - 1pt @ 5.5

Western Bulldogs v Gold Coast

No Ablett, No chance!
Quite simply Gold Coast have got any chance of getting up this weekend with their injuries. The Bulldogs have got a massive advantage in the middle.

Even though the Suns have been impressive lately, they face an impossible task in the Bulldogs. Western Bulldogs recorded a victory against Richmond last weekend, and lead the way in the competition in terms of disposals. I’m not going to go into much detail regarding this fixture, as there is really no point, the result is pretty obvious.

Get on the Bulldogs to win handsomely, Bulldogs 40+ is paying $1.85. It will be a walk in the park for Lachlan Hunter this weekend, he’s $1.4 to have 30 disposals which he’ll do with ease, could also be worth backing to have 35+ at $2.63.
Western Bulldogs 40+ - 1pt @ 1.85
Lachlan Hunter - 1pt @ 2.63

Adelaide v Collingwood

The Crows are on a roll, they’ve won their last seven and have the chance to further boost themselves up the ladder with another win this weekend. However it won’t be all plain sailing as the Pies have also started to play good footie of late.

Pies killed everyone last week including myself, I did not give them a chance of getting up against the Giants. Buckley’s forward line caused GWS all sort of problems. However they face a much better backline this week, both Talia and Lever have been in career best form.

Adelaide registered a huge win against Carlton in Round 16, there forward line starred again, they are up there with Sydney’s as the best in the league.

Collingwood don’t have the defence to keep this attack quiet, therefore I’m backing the form team to carry on their role. Get on the Crows to be winning at the end of every quarter at $1.57.

Eddie Betts is averaging 2.7 goals a game and has slotted 13 in his last four games. Get on him to add four more to his tally this weekend at $2.37.
Adelaide at the end of every quarter - 1pt @ 1.57
Eddie Betts - 1pt @ 2.37

Carlton v West Coast

My old boys bubble has burst unfortunately, it seems a while ago when Carlton had six wins from seven. In the last two fixtures they’ve really struggled, only scoring 92 points in their last two games.

Brendan Bolton has a young exciting side, however in order not to dent the confidence of these bloke they need to find a way of getting on the scoreboard. They now face a team who are well known for scoring huge points, the Eagles won by 32 points last time against North Melbourne. Only thing in the Blues favour is, West Coast are a different outfit away compared to at home.

West Coast have a few easy games in row over the next few weeks, a great chance for them to gather some momentum heading into finals. Get on the Eagles to get the ball rolling this weekend, they’ll win by 40+ at $1.95.

Kennedy will score easily against the Blues, but I’m more interested in Darling at $5.5 to kick 4+ 1t $5.5, seems pretty good value.
West Coast 40+ - 1pt @ 1.95
Jack Darling - 1pt @ 5.5

St Kilda v Melbourne

Saints have somehow managed to win three of their four, however don’t get carried away two of these were against Carlton and Essendon. They struggled to put away the Bombers but managed to get the job done with a flurry of late goals.

Melbourne have been pretty consistent lately, beating teams below them and going down to teams who sit above them on the ladder. The last exception to this rule was the loss to the Saints. This will be a tight affair, however on paper I think the Demons have more match winners. Back Melbourne to ignore the recent trend against the Saints and win at $1.71.

Jack Watts has kicked three goals in his last two games, he’ll find it pretty easy going against the Saints. Well worth backing to kick 4+ at $5.
Melbourne - 1pt @ 1.71
Jack Watts - 1pt @ 5.00

Brisbane Lions v GWS

The last game of the round is the easiest to call, there’s no way that GWS can lose to Brisbane.

Brisbane have been piss-poor all season, they’re on a 11 game losing-streak, one that will continue into next season. GWS have a real chance of recording a huge win to bolster their chances of a top four finish. The Giants will be sore after a embarrassing loss to Collingwood last time out, if this doesn’t get the boys up for it, nothing will.

GWS will be up and about, for that reason I really worry for my old side, this could be an absolute pasting. When one of the best offences in the league plays one of the worst defences, there is normally only one outcome, get on GWS to win by 60+ at $2.5.

Cameron could set a record on Sunday, get on him to kick at least six at $4.5
GWS 60+ - 1pt @ 2.5
Jeremy Cameron - 1pt @ 4.5
