Randwick R7 No.2 – LUCIA VALENTINA
Like the way the mare has progressed this prep, has come on leaps and bounds for the two return runs and suggest from a soft draw with the weight scale provided this year she looks mighty hard to beat. Keen this weekend as she builds to a Caulfield Cup.

Randwick R8 No.1 – SPEAK FONDLY
This is a filly that is flying and strikes a very winnable Group 1. Recent effort in the Golden Rose was outstanding, lead/kicked and only was overcome late by a beast of an animal in Exosphere. She draws for the right run either leading/tracking them through, like here quality in a race of this nature.
Speak Fondly - 1pt @ 2.4
Randwick R9 No.8 – MAGIC HURRICANE
Has built so well this campaign, was beaten by a quality performer in Preferment here in the Hill Stakes and suggest the step to 2400m is ideal. Drops 3.5kgs for the effort and draws in for a lovely soft run, needs some luck 600m from home but if he gets it, mighty hard to beat.
Magic Hurricane - 1pt @ 3.8
Caulfield R5 No.3 – EYRTON
Has plenty of class this European import and keen he’s ready to run a big race first-up, recent trial win was excellent and like that McEvoy had no hesitation bringing him to Melbourne. Drawn for a lovely run and will progress to bigger things.
Eyrton - 1pt @ 3.4
Doomben R4 No.2 – I’M BELUCCI
Promising horse going forward this, has shown improvement with each race start and third-up stepping to a mile (suits/speed good) looks right at his peak. Drawn wide which shouldn’t be a problem as he’ll get back and look to be the one coming home over the top of them late. Pace on paper ok, will just need an ounce of luck.
I'm Bellucci - 1pt @ 3.4
Belmont R6 No.2 – DAWN APPROACH
Great race here in Perth, like this fella as I reckon he’s come up over the odds. Recent trial at Lark Hill was excellent in good time, looks wound up enough to run a big race fresh and ticks a lot of boxes (track/trip/race map). Should lead and with the rail out +6m give them plenty to chase down. Can catch some key rivals flat footed.
Dawn Approach - 0.5pt e/w @ 7.5
Morphettville R5 No.5 – TRUPT
Never really got a crack at the over 1000m here fresh a week ago, went to the line without being asked for an effort basically. Like the fact Balfour has flipped her round on a seven day backup (suggest she’s going well) and gets to the 1200m. Pannell goes on and speed on paper looks ok, will be the one flying home late.
Trupt - 1pt @ 4.4
