Tom Gilmore has four big selections on a cracking day of racing.
Canterbury R6 No.4 – FESTIVITY
Mare returning after a long break (15 months) but did show plenty of ability as a 2yo. Has prepped up with two very smart trials and draws beautifully in gate 4, 2kg claim from Childs brings her well in at the weights. Looks ready to go and will sprint well fresh over the 1100m.

Moonee Valley R6 No.1 – IT IS WRITTEN
Absolute track specialist (21 starts – 7 wins) who is racing in very good form, comes out of good race at Cranbourne over 1000m (unsuitable) when unlucky, held up at a critical point rounding the bend then had to weave through late to just miss. Back to 1200m and draws to get the right run, clearly the best horse in the race.

Moonee Valley R7 No.1 – BUFFERING (each-way)
The old boy is a marvel, was an extraordinary win first-up in the Moir where they want mad up front (first 600m 34.14!) and yet had the tenacity to kick strongly in the straight and score comfortably. Only better for the run and there doesn’t look to be anywhere near the amount of speed as two weeks back, big price again and will go well.

Sunshine Coast R8 No.5 – JOHNHRO
Former Victorian was impressive winning on debut for P.Duncan (good time for the day!) over the 1200m, then stepped to 1350m and didn’t appear to run out the trip. Really like the drop back to the six-furlongs and appears to draw for a beautiful run in transit. Has Zeletto/Pittsburgh Flyer form back in Melbourne!
