Bendigo R1 No.9 – TAVI BAY
Like this filly, really promising debut over 1400m two weeks back at Benalla – looked a touch lost in transit but still found the line ok after flattening out well in her final 100m. Tongue-tie goes on and the step to a mile will suit, all the better for the debut and looks to have every chance from the soft draw.

Bendigo R4 No.1 – MIGHTY LIKE
Hasn’t been at his best this preparation but think a drop back to the 1400m in a grade like this is his chance to again breakthrough. Draws ideally in a race that really lacks speed on paper, so Oliver may elect to go forward (track has played favourably to leaders recently). Has been a winner over 1400m at Flemington!

Canterbury R2 No.5 – SWORNTOMYLOVER
Lightly-raced mare making her debut for C.Waller here with Winona Costin booked to right. Won well fresh on debut this time last year in ok race at Te Aroha when leading comfortably/kicking to score nicely, since transferred to Sydney and recent trial suggests she’s ready to fire first-up, should lead them up and be pretty tough to run down – pattern to suit?

Ipswich R1 No.4 – JAMES IS BLONDE
Looks the natural leader in a tricky race and with the rail out 8m that could be a major advantage, was ok in a good race in town almost eight weeks ago over 1050m when he appeared to choke down. Has been freshened with the blinkers/tongue tie going on and looks well placed to break through.

Ascot R6 No.6 – SECRET MINX
This is a smart mare and looks to strike a very winnable race here off the back of a good performance behind a quality galloper (race rated on the day!). With the wide draw and the claim from Johnston-Porter suggest she’ll roll forward and sit just outside the leader, stable thought enough of her as a 3yo to throw her into Stakes company in only her second career start. Will win this on towards better races over the summer.
