Three red hot fancies from Mornington today to cheer your Christmas blues.
Filly making her return to racing after a debut as a 2yo in June this year, she went ok and was only 3.5 lengths off a very smart galloper. She recently jumped out at Caulfield (15/12) in really good style, she was ridden out but responded well to win in good time, she looks fairly wound up for this and should get a soft run in transit. The opposition isnt overly strong!
Was quite good two starts ago at G2 level before running on gamely against the pattern at Sandown over 1500m, winner of that race has since gone on to perform well at Moonee Valley. He hit the line like a horse ready to win over the mile and the bias of the day gives the run even more credence! Will sit 2-3 pairs back with cover and just be far too strong for them.
Nice filly who might have been a touch lost down the Flemington straight two weeks ago over the 1000m, winner of that race has since come out and won again (along with 8th in a race at Moonee Valley last weekend!) so the form has stood up. Back around a bend looks a key for her and with the claim from Brandon Stockdale she looks well in against her own sex. Thought she could really measure up as a racehorse.
He gets out a trip here that'll be right up his alley (being by High Chaparral) after an excellent run over 1400m fresh, only finished two lengths off the smart Spreadeagled who has since come out and won strongly again. This is a very weak race on paper and the fact he maps to win makes him the best bet on the card by some way!
Former Victorian who's having his first start with Robert Heathcote, if he brings anywhere his best form from down south he should be incredibly hard to beat. Has been on the heels of Lord Of The Sky (G1 performer) as a younger horse and in his most recent campaign he was excellent fresh at Moonee Valley of the 1200m. He had a quiet trial two weeks ago at Deagon which suggests to me he's going ok, will run a big race!
