In-form tipster Tom Gilmore has four selections for the New Years Eve racing action.
Echuca R3 No.13 - FITNAH
Trialled quite nicely at Werribee 14/12 in good time behind a seriously nice horse (who since has won on debut), she wasnt knocked around under basically did things under her own steam. She finds a very winnable race on debut and draws out which looks ok on paper as it appears she'll roll forward. Has some gears this filly and could kick off her career on a promising note this afternoon.
Fit - 1pt @ 5.5
Echuca R4 No.3 - EXACTING
Copped a shocking steer returning when he should have won at Bairnsdale two weeks ago. Moving on from that he'll strip much fitter from the run and I really like the progression to 1400m (late splits were good). Blinkers go on just to sharpen him up that extra touch and we get an upgrade in jockey. Nice little race but this is a horse who'll go on to better things in my humble.
Exacting - 1pt @ 3.3
Gosford R1 No.1 - ELEMENOHPEE
Nice horse who second-up last prep finished only a length off Pearls (went on to claim G2 success) which stacks up brilliantly for a race like this. No trial to go off but did perform well on debut/fresh earlier this year. Draws off the track but will roll forward and be making his own luck. Getting an each-way price to find out how he's come back.
Elemenohpee - 1pt @ 4.4
Port Lincoln R7 No.4 - DOWNS AFTER DARK
Being forgiving of his failure two weeks ago here at Port Lincoln over the 1000m, jumped to the front but was pressured and ended up rolling along at a silly tempo in what proved a swoopers race. He still managed to stick on ok and the fact there doesnt look anywhere near as much speed certainly lies in his favour. He'll be hard to beat with a moments peace.
Downs After Dark - 1pt @ 3.0
