Tom Gilmore has five selections from Wednesday's racing action.
Sandown R1 No.7 - HOWARD BE THY NAME
Nice horse this and he has been good in better races to date, comes in off the back of a nice run at Moonee Valley over the 1500m - freshened up a touch and back to 1400m suits in my opinion. Should box seat from the draw and looks very hard to beat with even luck.
Howard Be Thy Name - 1pt @ 2.6
Sandown R6 No.1 - BELUGA CAVIAR
Really good win at Moonee Valley a month ago in what was a slick race, think he goes ok on the fresher side so dont mind the space between runs. The 1300m shouldnt be an issue as he was very strong through the line over the 1200m, this race isnt any stronger than the maiden he last competed in and he should be a length or two improved.
Beluga Caviar - 1pt @ 2.5
Canterbury R4 No.7 - TIGER EYES
I like it when M.Dale brings his gallopers to town for their first-up efforts, usually a great lead in that suggests they're going well! This mare does usually perform well to kick off her campaigns and the fact she's drawn out/should lead around a tight turning track such as Canterbury will no doubt suit, can win at a price!
Tiger Eyes - 1pt @ 6.5
Ipswich R1 No.1 - HI I'M BACK
Significant drop in grade he for this bloke and on the back of his effort three weeks ago in town he looks incredibly tough to beat, third-up and he gets back to the 1000m. Will lead them up and offer a kick on the turn to be far too classy, he's in well relative weights with the claim from McGillivray.
Hi I'm Back - 1pt @ 2.0
Murray Bridge R5 No.3 - RAHEEBA
Won in dominant fashion fresh here two weeks ago and dont see any reason he doesnt strip fitter and be mighty hard to hold out again. Wide draw no concern as he'll roll forward and pattern of late here should be a great asset to him, wasnt far away from G1 class filly Miss Gunpowder in the middle of last year which will hold him in good stead going forward. Maybe a slight query sticking at the 900m but happy to back him in.
Raheeba - 1pt @ 4.25
