Tom Gilmore has SIX selections on a bumper Saturday of racing action.
Flemington R3 No.3 - TWISTING TYPHOON
Lovely horse this fella, he has some serious talent as evidenced when he came home quickest late splits of the day at Moonee Valley over 1200m in what was an on-pacers race. Gets to 1400m and a big track which should no doubt suit, he could be a genuine Group-class horse in time and with that being the case will get the job done here.
Twisting Typhoon - 1pt @ 4.6
Flemington R5 No.11 - STAR STEALER
Was ok in a hot race at Moonee Valley over a 1000m this bloke two weeks ago, dont think that the sprint suited him or the track for that matter (missed the kick and got lost rounding the bend). He was 5 weeks between runs for that effort so expect some improvement into this afternoon, well in at the weights after the claim and six furlongs should suit him. Has form around some seriously smart ones down the straight here at Flemington.
Star Stealer - 1pt @ 5.5
Flemington R7 No.8 - ZUPACHARGED
Gets to 1400m for the first time the campaign (finally!) after being really competitive without winning over 1200m. His effort behind the flying machine Durendal here two weeks ago in a race dominated by those close to the speed was nothing short of excellent, the extra 200m is vital and with that in mind he can win from the soft draw.
Zupacharged - 1pt @ 4.4
Randwick R1 No.7 - MARENOSTRO
His return fresh over the 1550m at Canterbury two weeks ago was nothing short of excellent, that win was off the back of two trials at 1000m so you'd have to think he's got plenty of natural progression and improvement to come. Soft track helps his cause to no end and this really isnt a vintage field. C.Waller horses generally improve heading into runs second-up!
Marenostro - 1pt @ 3.5
Morphettville R5 No.6 - LUCKY SYMBOL
Comes back to SA after a fairly good effort down the straight at Flemington, his 8th of 13 is better than what it reads as he only finished 1.5 lengths off the low flying Rough Justice. Gets in on the minimum here and the softer tempo of 1200m should suit him down to the ground. At his peak and I think can win!
Lucky Symbol - 1pt @ 6.5
Ascot R6 No.5 - LUCKY STREET
Serious horse this, he was seven weeks between runs in the Summer Scorcher and was tipped out by the smallest of margins. Winner was rock-hard fit and has been a winning machine. Think he jumps well from the gate and leads, if so he should be very hard to beat, strips fitter and certainly cant see him losing carrying the minimum at the weights.
Lucky Street - 2pt @ 1.55
