Tom Gilmore has five cracking bets on a busy Friday of racing action.
Cranbourne R1 No.9 - PALAZZO PITTI
Thought this filly debuted in great style at Mornington two weeks ago in what appears to have been a pretty hot race (they ran quicker overall time than older horses!). Strips fitter for the run and her jump-and-run style should be suited here on a tight turning track that usually favours leaders.
Palazzo Pitti - 1pt @ 2.6
Cranbourne R4 No.7 - ALL THAT I KNOW
Good filly this who chased magnificently here two weeks ago over 1400m, she was probably unlucky not to walk away with the win and horses have since come out of that race and run well. Blinkers go on today and she progresses to 1400m, from the friendly draw she'll be much handier and more than likely far too good.
All That I Know - 1pt @ 4.0
Cranbourne R8 No.1 - VALDERRAMA
Going well without winning this fella and at the weights with the claim he can be winning. Draws awkwardly but they'll be positive from the wide alley which suits here at Cranbourne and back to 1300m should suit. He comes out of a good race at Sandown behind a promising one (who could win this Saturday) and the runner-up has since won well. All signs point to him being the winner.
Valderrama - 1pt @ 4.6
Canterbury R7 No.4 - SHAMFRANCISCO
Nice mare this who was competitive with a very good one last prep in town, was then spelled and has trialled up twice for her return. The most recent of which was an effortless win in good time at Randwick 12/1, she did things easily and it suggested she's returned a bigger and better horse. Will roll forward from the wide alley and be too classy for them.
Shamfrancisco - 1pt @ 3.3
Colac R1 No.2 - MAGWITCH
This is a horse who's been up to scratch in town in Sydney, racing in a field of some of Victorias great plodders. Need I say more? He was good when having to work on debut for G.Thornton at Warrnambool and didnt finish far away from a nice horse in Irish Saturday. He'll naturally improve off that and finds a weaker race which suits, second-up last prep wasnt far away from a host of city winners in NSW.
Magwitch - 1pt @ 4.6
