Tom Gilmore has six selections on Friday, including a 2pt tip at Toowoomba.
Mornington R1 No.5 - ALLURING MISS
Was first-up for four months here two weeks ago over the 1000m, had the right run but leader pinched a break on them and she couldnt run her down in time. I liked the way she went through the line though and from the wider draw McNeil may very well elect to roll forward (has led before and gone well previously second-up!). Dont mind sticking at the 1000m, she should be ready to win.
Alluring Miss - 1pt @ 3.3
Mornington R2 No.3 - EYES OF LOVE
Nice mare this and a former kiwi, she's only had the one start in Australia and it was middle of last year at Hawkesbury, she was 1200m to 1800m and 5 weeks between runs so its of no surprise to me she failed. Liked her recent hitout at Sandown 19/1 amongst a few good ones, they give her a genuine test so fancy she's pretty wound up to be winning fresh in an average field.
Eyes Of Love - 1pt @ 3.25
Moonee Valley R1 No.10 - ZENON
Good horse this and he comes out of a high rating race at Sandown two weeks ago, winner is a very smart horse and third has since come out and won recently. She gets the blinkers on for the first time today which should sharpen her up, on the minimum at the weights and should lead, keen she wins this!
Zenon - 1pt @ 2.45
Moonee Valley R4 No.8 - CRACKAJACK (each-way)
Has been racing well in good company this fella but hasnt had early toe to get himself into a prominent position which is vital over a trip, gets the blinkers on tonight (big tick!) which i'm very keen will just switch him on for that extra length-or-two. Gets a nice little drop in the weights and is drawn to box seat, wouldnt mind seeing him lead and pattern may very well suit.
Crackajack - 1pt e/w @ 9.0
Moonee Valley R5 No.4 - AUNTY MO
Absolutely flew fresh in slick time at Sandown in early December before progressing to here at The Valley and failing as a hot favourite, very forgiving of that as she pulled up lame in the near fore. Has been given 5 weeks to freshen up/overcome that little niggle and all reports suggest she's going well. Can lead/sit one out-one back from the favourable draw but I wouldnt be disappointed if she jumped and ran them along over the 955m. Her run at Sandown would win this!
Aunty Mo - 1pt @ 4.6
Toowoomba R6 No.8 - SHAWL
This filly copped nothing short of a horrific steer at Ipswich 9 days ago when pattern favoured those closest to the speed/rails. Forgiving of that and pleased to see quality apprentice M.Murphy claiming 3kg to bring her in with 54kg. Her form in town prior to that will have her winning this and back to a more spacious track certainly suits. Can sit 2-3 pairs back with cover and be too strong for them late.
Shawl - 2pt @ 2.0
