It's a busy day for Tom Gilmore who has SEVEN bets from around the race meetings.
Sandown R1 No.3 - JENNIO
Won well here over a mile two weeks again when ridden perfectly, they were more positive from the jump and it proved a winning move. This is a figurative jump in grade but in actual quality its not all that dissimilar to last time out (5th out of the race has since come out and won), again draws well and with the 57.5kgs she'll be mighty hard to beat.
Jennio - 1pt @ 2.8
Sandown R3 No.9 - COMIC MISS
Thought her effort here two weeks ago over the 1300m with a big weight was ok, was boxed in 3-4 pairs back the fence and didnt get any clear running until it was all over. Post-race she also presented in-season (mares dont usually perform anywhere near their peak) which explains the even effort. Drops 4.5kgs into today and again draws favourably, she'll be a touch closer in running and should go close!
Comic Miss - 1pt @ 4.2
Sandown R4 No.2 - ELJETEM (each-way)
Made really good ground fresh when first-up for seven months at Pakenham, went back to the inside (not A ground) and hit the line strongly. Second-up strips fitter and extra 100m suits, finished 6 lengths off Cox Plate winner Winx in the Sunshine Coast Guineas early last year. Fair to say that performance would have her winning this.
Eljetem - 1pt @ 9.0
Sandown R5 No.4 - DATA POINT
Really nice colt this who made good ground in a race dominated by the leader, didnt see daylight until late and looked like he resented racing tight inside horses. Draws out but thats not a major issue here at Sandown, 1400m will suit and if he is allowed room to wind up (pattern suits?) then he'll be storming home over the top of them.
Data Point - 1pt @ 4.4
Canterbury R1 No.5 - KISS AND MAKE UP
Looks a good colt this and I really like the way he's trialled up, most recent of which at Randwick 29/1 was impressive in a quality heat. He had Saturday winner Telperion and the stakes-class Soviet Secret covered quite easily without any real riding. Reckon he'll be pretty positive from the wide draw early and look to slide leaders girth. He's been pretty wound up for this debut!
Kiss And Make Up - 1pt @ 4.4
Doomben R5 No.7 - GRACIDA (NAP)
Nice horse who flies fresh and going off his recent hitout at Deagon I see no reason why he wont be very hard to beat, rolled around nicely and wasnt asked to do much, he had a stakes-class filly behind him and covered easily. He gets in with 53kgs and looks the leader on paper (track pattern suits!), plenty of boxes ticked and will be winning today.
Gracida - 2pt @ 2.8
Gawler R1 No.8 - NIPPY LIPPY
Petite little filly who has been racing in better grade without winning, drops to a pretty average sort of race and going off her recent effort behind Battle Brewing (really nice style of horse) from the inside draw she'll be hard to beat. Wouldnt surprise me to see her kick up from the inside and lead, she's rock-hard fit and back to 1100m looks ideal.
Nippy Lippy - 1pt @ 4.8
