It's a very quiet day of racing but Tom Gilmore has still found three crackers at Bendigo.
Bendigo R1 No.10 - MEDAILLE
Nice filly this, went around at a short quote at Sale and failed to perform to her peak. Didnt pull up well post-race so fairly forgiving of that effort. This is a horse that finished only three lengths off a very good 2yo in October last year in Sydney, if she can roll to the front from the wide alley and find the fence I expect her to be very hard to beat, coming back to 1100m no negative either.
Medaille - 1pt @ 3.2
Bendigo R3 No.4 - PUNT CLUB
He trialled up superbly at Cranbourne two weeks ago, wasnt knocked around at all in a heat won by G2 winner Kinglike (hard ridden). Debuted in July last year over 975m and went very well, sat three deep/on-speed and stuck on gamely. That race was won by Stellar Collision who went on to beat Bon Aurum in his following start. Those form lines should be good enough to see him go close today.
Punt Club - 1pt @ 2.9
Bendigo R9 No.3 - MONTEUX (each-way)
Blinkers come off as per his jumpout at Caulfield recently which I thought was ok, just sat in behind them and wasnt asked to do too much. Fresh/inside draw should see him perform well, last time at the trip he wasnt far away from Duke Of Brunswick (stakes class horse) at Sale. Reckon he'll be one to follow as he steps up in trip this time in but can run a cheeky race resuming today
Monteux - 0.5pt e/w @ 10.0
