In-form Tom Gilmore has a two-point NAP in Race 3 at Sandown on Wednesday.
Sandown R2 No.2 - PRESCIENCE
Former European having his first start for Chris Waller here in Australia, has been competitive with a promising stayers when back in the UK but what I was taken with was his jumpout at Werribee on the 22/2 over 1100m. Left the gates well, settled into his stride and really towed up well over the final furlong to go through the line nicely. This isn't an overly strong race and from the good gate I fancy he can run a big race fresh. Will improve to 2000m but the mile will suit resuming.
Prezcience - 1pt @ 5.5
Sandown R3 No.3 - HE'S OUR ROKKII (NAP)
Thought he closed really well fresh here over the 1300m when he struck some trouble mid-race, he'll be much improved for the outing and gets the blinkers on for the first time. Really like he steps back up to a mile which certainly is his pet trip, finished on the heels of Mahuta (G1 class colt) in the Carbine Club last year before going to Perth and being mighty unlucky in the Guineas (found rump steak!). Think they'll look to take a more forward position today to ensure they remove luck from the equation. His form is just better than these.
He's Our Rokkii - 2pt @ 1.9
Sandown R5 No.5 - CLEMENCY
My she was nearly a good thing licked fresh at Pakenham off the back of some smart jumpouts, they way she quickened when finding the split late over the final 50m was nothing short of brilliant. Think she's a really high-class mare who'll have come on for the run and yes getting to the mile! Will be competing in much better races than this over the coming months and fancy just plain too good for them.
Clemency - 1pt @ 2.35
Sandown R8 No.3 - ELJETEM
Got the chocolates for us here two weeks ago this mare at a big price and I do fancy she can do it again, closed really well that day over the 1300m (they did roll along) to run away with the victory. Big ticks the extra 100m and the fact she drops 1kg at the weights for that win. Speed again looks ok and the fact she's drawn out should give Noonan plenty of time to wind her up from the 600m. If pattern allows those swooping their chance she'll be winning again.
Eljetem - 1pt @ 5.0
Warwick Farm R1 No.1 - RATHER SWEET
Two runs this campaign have been very good but I was taken by her effort in the G2 Silver Slipper two weeks ago where she finished only a couple of lengths off the winner (and right in Golden Slipper betting!). Theres no superstars in this field and she does return to her home track where she's been placed on two occasions. Expect she'll roll to the front and be far too tough for them to run down, at her top today.
Rather Sweet - 1pt @ 2.5
Warwick Farm R5 No.4 - HANDFAST (each-way)
Only won narrowly at Newcastle in what wasnt a great race off the back of a super trial here at Warwick Farm. Might have raced a touch flat so prepared to think he could be a big improver into this today. Was edged out in Stakes company when sent north for the QLD carnival this time late last year so he has quality. Keen being by Street Cry that getting to the 1400m will suit and he should have the drop on the leaders from the soft draw. He's come up good overs!
Handfast - 0.5pt e/w @ 7.0
Murray Bridge R3 No.1 - BAKERS DOZEN
Very hard to ignore this girl in a race of this nature, already gets in well at the weights with the mares allowance but with the 2kg claim from Caboche she looks one of the good things of the day. Forgiving of her effort at Morphettville three weeks ago when she was ridden upside down, didnt appreciate being revved up early and faded understandably. Winner of the race has since won again which proves the forms ok, this is a drop in grade and with a sit/back to 1200m she'll win.
Bakers Dozen - 1pt @ 2.0
