Tom Gilmore has three strong selections from Monday's racing action.
Kyneton R2 No.4 - STARK LUCK
Giving him another crack back to 1200m with the winkers going on, had been competitive in much better races than this before failing at Warrnambool (forgiving on a soft track). Back on top of the ground from the soft draw with B.Rawiller on he should get all the favours. Keen he's at his peak from a fitness perspective and should be a pair/two in front of key rival midrace.
Star Luck - 1pt @ 4.4
Kyneton R5 No.5 - BON JET
Returned well late January this fella where he clearly needed the run, then was a big improver at Werribee three weeks ago over the 1100m where he led/set a genuine gallop. The quinella came from off speed and had the softer runs so I reckon his effort was more than sound. Peaks third-up and gets to 1200m which will suit, can settle leading in transit and kick clear at the 400m. With the 1.5kg claim from Stockdale I expect him to be winning.
Bon Jet - 1pt @ 3.0
Kembla Grange R1 No.8 - NOT A CHERRY (NAP)
This is a decent enough style of filly, they thought enough of her last prep to compete with her at Stakes level which is a fair indicator as to her ability. She did fail in that race but it was on a bog track so prepared to forgive. Has trialled up twice for this return, the most recent of which was an eye-catching second to Flippant (2 lengths off Mahuta in Magic Millions Guineas!). No superstars in this and she draws for the right run.
Not A Cherry - 2pt @ 1.9
