Start your week with a bang with four top tips from Tom Gilmore.
Looks a good race for this filly, she's continued to gradually improve as she's stepped up in trip over the past 6 weeks. Liked her effort when having a crack at the 2000m for the first time at Wangaratta (jumped from 1500m) where she made a move early and just ran out of juice late. Like the when they get that run under their belt and have another go at the trip at their next run, blinkers also go on which should spark her up.
Was second-up to the mile here at Wangaratta two weeks ago when winning impressively, rolled forward/controlled things and gave a great kick straightening to win well. He looks to have the most scope (lightly raced) v. rivals here and with the 3kg claim from Heywood is in well relative weights. Should again be in the leading pair and almost at his top, no concern sticking at the trip.
This filly returned nicely three weeks ago here over the 1015m, was made to do some work whilst trying to find the lead and was just beaten by a fit one with a nice trail. Expect her to take plenty of benefit from that run (was 8 months since her last start) and they may elect to box seat today in order to try have her finish off. Was good enough to be competitive in metro QLD last year as a 2yo, so she clearly has a level if ability that should see her winning this.
3yo filly making her return to the races for the first time since June last year where she was disappointing on the Gold Coast, has been given time to mature and going off her recent barrier trial at Randwick (4/3 over 740m) she looks to be in terrific order. Ran 44.10 under little riding which is slick enough for a jumpout, expect they'll try and cross from the wide alley, if they find the fence she could be much too classy.
