Tom Gilmore's best bets for Kyneton, Wyong and Pakenham this Thursday, 7th April.
Kyneton R2 No.8 - LETS TWIST
Typical Mick Kent prep this, built a fitness base over 1400m in his two starts to date (debut was ok in a good race too!) and now progresses to what will no doubt be a much more suitable trip. This isn't a standout affair to be honest and I fancy he has the upside to beat this lot. Senior hoop L.Nolen engaged and he gets the right run on the map, may even look to be positive early trying to take up a position.

Kyneton R4 No.5 - CHUI
Was ridden cold fresh over 1000m at Ballarat in a race where we saw a seriously good horse debut, this fella was never going to trouble her but with an inch of positivity early should have run a clear second. They appeared very keen just to give him a run and tighten him up from a fitness viewpoint. Keen he improves quite significantly off that, he'll be far more positive today and go very close. Led them up in a slick race at Sandown last prep that saw him go down narrowly to Stakes-class performer Vostok, that form should stand up this afternoon.
Chui - 1pt @ 3.30
Wyong R2 No.1 - LIEDER
Been a frustrating conveyance for punters over the last 6 months but this really does look his race, was good beating all bar one smart stablemate at Gosford two weeks ago over the mile when required to do a bit of work on-speed. This is as poor a field that he's come up against and he should find the softest of leads, with all that in mind he just MUST win today. It really is hard to believe that a horse who was competitive with Group-class 3yo's last spring is yet to break his duck!
Lieder - 1pt @ 1.80
Pakenham R7 No.10 - WALK THIS WAY (x2 NAP)
Was nothing short of outstanding three weeks ago at Moonee Valley over the 1200m when going down narrowly, half missed the kick, was trapped 5 deep throughout and yet still had the tenacity to find the line and arguably be very stiff not to win. He wobbled around the tight track so back to the wide-open spaces of Pakenham is a major positive and drops 1kg at the weights for a half length defeat to Magicus (stakes horse), this field is no more difficult. Draws in the right part of the track to be swamping them down the centre late.
Walk This Way - 2pt @ 5.50
