Tom Gilmore has got three best bets at Geelong today and one must back at Gosford!
Thought he was very good fresh at Pakenham two weeks ago over the 1200m, beaten by a smart one in Tan Tat Charger (run under his belt/not far away from some good ones) and they did run good time relative to the older horses. Will no doubt strip fitter for the effort and looks to get the right run on the map this afternoon, they gapped 3rd there at Pakenham so fancy from a good rating race the form will hold up.
LADBROKE'S ODDS BOOST FEATURE lets you get better odds on any of Tom's best bets.
Former European having her first start in AUS for the Hayes/Dabernig stable after not being to the races since November of 2013! Talk about a decent break off the scene, but I tell you what she's in magnificent order. Trialled at Flemington 24/3 over 800m and just cruised around under no pressure to win the heat comfortably, then went for a much quieter trial to Werribee 4/4. Traditionally been good fresh but has wanted a trip. Fancy some speed has been put into her legs and she'll be going close!
Was 1400m to 1800m second-up and absolutely massive at Sandown recently, went back to the tail of the field and managed to really rocket home circling the field (basically sustaining a 1000m run). He'll take great benefit from that and its always a terrific lead when two weeks later they have their second run at the trip for the campaign. Not a great deal of quality in this, might need a touch of luck from the inside draw but with any sort of clean galloping room he'll be winning.
This is a really, really poor race and as a result this fella with a run under his belt should be very hard to beat. Thought his performance fresh at Wyong over 1100m when a big drifter in the market was actually ok. Was a race dominated by those closest to the speed so his effort to make ground when pattern/tempo didnt suit was good. Expect he'll take closer order from the draw today in the small field and prove pretty difficult to hold out. Was competitive with much better gallopers than this in his debut preparation late last year.
