Mornington R3 No.9 - BELEURA BELLE

This filly is the clear standout in what is a terrible race, has progressed nicely with each run to date but and was quite pleased with her effort in what was actually an ok race at Geelong two weeks ago over 1300m. Hit the line well (tempo against) and looked like a horse that'll relish the step up in trip. Was only 3 lengths off a few handy ones who'd been competitive in far superior company, this is her race to lose.

Mornington R4 No.8 - SHAMPERS

First start for Charlotte Littlefield since moving from the Mick Price stable. Thought her trial at Cranbourne 11/4 was good and told me she's come back in pleasing nick, tongue-tie goes on for her return here which suggests she may have had some undiagnosed issues (choked down?) in previous runs. Fresh this time last year she just missed to Jalan Jalan (went on to be a genuine Group-class filly) and that sort of form for this is enormous. Can cross from the wide draw/sit leaders girth and win!

Mornington R8 No.10 - GEMMALENAH

Think she's a pretty nice horse this, liked what she was able to do winning on debut at Cranbourne in whats proven a good Maiden. Went to the front and proved far too good on that occasion before being slow away at her second run over the 1000m two weeks ago. Made good ground (missed by a length) on a night where leaders were favoured, winner Ability had been thereabouts with some top class 3yo's last spring which is a fair reference. Inside draw tells me they'll be positive early, if she can find the lead she'll be very difficult to run down.
