Tom Gilmore's best bets for Wednesday, 27th April.
Sandown R2 No.7 - ST RUMON
Interesting the 9 day turnaround off a very good debut at Terang when making strong ground late, race was dominated by fit/on-pacer who had pattern of the day to suit, so fancy his run had plenty of merit. Yes second go at the 1400m as he'll take plenty of improvement from that first run and he does draw favourably to possibly position up a touch handier, reckon he'll be a nice horse to follow up in grade/stepping up in trip this campaign.

Sandown R3 No.1 - MYSTIC MOON
Was three weeks between runs when performing only fairly after being sent to Adelaide, did some work and just one-batted to the line a touch although did only go down three-lengths to Stakes/Group class Viddora and G1 competitive Miss Gunpowder! Run might have been better than what it looked on paper, back to midweek grade and from a soft seat in transit/stepping to 1200m she'll have every chance to finish off. Gets in well relative weights with gun-claimer Regan Bayliss on board.
Mystic Moon - 1pt @ 5.00
Sandown R6 No.12 - KALIDAZ
She's racing in really good style this mare but the major factor on her side is the complete and utter lack of speed in this race, first-time at a mile she'll be given every chance to get the job done with that in mind. Expect her to cross from the wide alley and take a pretty comfortable lead in transit, can kick at the top of the straight and take plenty of running down. Previous run was only nailed late by Loveitt who ran well in an $80,000 race at Flemington recently.
Kalidaz - 1pt @ 3.90
Sandown R7 No.8 - GOOD OFFA
Still not sure how he didnt get it done two weeks ago here over the 1000m, just got run off his legs early and was asked to make near on impossible ground. With that in mind he absolutely flew late and stormed home, suggest back to 1200m might be his go as they wont motor as hard early allowing him to settle. He did beat 3rd horse home who was runner-up at Caulfield last Saturday so form lines are stacking-up, his 1.5 length 2nd to Supido at Flemington in January is also hard to forget!
Good Offa - 1pt @ 4.80
Canterbury R3 No.5 - NOT A CHERRY
She's been a bridesmaid to date but today in my eyes is clearly her time to shine. Comes out of a better race than this two weeks ago at Hawkesbury when only bettered by a smart one. Back to 1100m on a track like Canterbury will suit, fancy she crosses and finds the fence in a race that appears to lack speed, and as a result can dictate. Must get the job done today.
Not a Cherry - 1pt @ 3.80
Gold Coast R5 No.4 - GRACIDA
Nice horse who was just low flying in his two recent wins, one over the 1100m and the other 1050. Went to the front on both occasions and just sustained brutal speed to be far too good. Freshened and back to 900m doesn't look to be much of an issue, he'll again find the fence and be too sharp. Will pinch a good race in town this preparation.
Gracida - 1pt @ 2.75
Canterbury R1 No.2 - AUSTIN
A very 'Chris Waller' prep for a second-up win this in my opinion, he was ok at Newcastle over the 1350m on return to the races off the back of quite a good trial. Looked like he certainly needed the run, and the extra trip will no doubt suit. He did improve significantly earlier this year following a run fresh and he gets the services of premier hoop Brenton Avdulla today. Will be handy and too strong late.
