Tom Gilmore's best bets for Friday, April 29th.
Wangaratta R2 No.8 - I FEEL LOVE
Reckon she did plenty right on debut two weeks ago over the 1000m at Werribee, did a bit of work rolling along on-speed in what proved more of a swoopers race (inside not 'A' ground) and yet still only went down a length. Can picture her improving 2-3 lengths for that debut and she does look the leader on paper. Don't reckon she's a superstar, but doesn't need to be to win this. Like good front-running apprentice R.Bayliss taking the ride, no issue with the slight step up in trip.

Wangaratta R6 No.3 - RHONDA IN PARIS
Ridden upside/down last start at Wodonga over the 1100m but made excellent ground to go down very narrowly, under the circumstances it was a terrific effort. Like the drop back to 1000m considering she's rock-hard fit and does get in beautifully at the weights after the claim from Rebecca Williams. Can be tractable from the draw depending on pattern of the day, ideally leads at a rolling tempo and proves too hard to catch!
Rhonda in Paris - 1pt @ 4.00
Muswellbrook R1 No.7 - YARRAPOWER
Even on debut when well backed over the 1100m at Wyong two weeks ago (off the back of a nice trial), despite missing the jump it seemed like he gawked around a touch and was a bit overawed by the experience so very pleased to see the addition of blinkers today. With the run under his belt/experience at the races he should take plenty of catching, wouldn't shock me to see him lead dropping back to the 1000m (if he jumps!).
Yarrapower - 1pt @ 2.50
Cranbourne R2 No.8 - OUR KRYPTONITE
The fit horse in the race who's had the lead up run to suggest he's ready to tackle the mile. Draws out which makes things interesting but fancy he can slot in on the map three pairs back with some cover, may prove favourable to get off the fence during this card so monitor far any pattern closely. Has been within striking distance of much better horses than this (Nats The Boss/Apoloboom) and ticks plenty of boxes tonight. Catches an average race at the right time.
Our Kryptonite - 1pt @ 3.20
Cranbourne R3 No.6 - LUSTFUL EYES (each-way)
Two runs this prep have both been ok but he did improve drastically second-up at Werribee two weeks ago, sat outside the leader/was no match but did stick on gamely. That winner has since gone on the only go down narrowly stepping up in grade, so the form reference is ok. Like the wide draw as it forces them to be positive, reckon with a sit just off the lead he can finish home over the top of them - reckon 1300m will suit and he'll have come on third-up!
Lustful Eyes - 0.5pt e/w @ 7.00
Cranbourne R6 No.6 - GEMMALENAH
Promising filly who did as she pleased here on debut (beating subsequent winners) before being slow away in much better company here second-up again over the 1000m. Found the line like a nice horse regardless and things certainly didn't pan out her way. Has been given time to get over that run and the fact she has proven to be tractable gives Currie options depending on pattern of the evening. She'll be off the fence in the better going either way so think she's mighty hard to beat.
Gemmalenah - 1pt @ 3.50
