Race 1 11:55am TAB Highway Plate 1100m

ATOM EVE resumes here in a winnable race. She is three from three and ended her first preparation with a win at Randwick. If she is fit and tuned up, she will be hard to beat and gets a handy 2kg claim for Kayla Nisbet.

BID OF FAITH is another one who resumes here after a solid preparation. If you forgive the only first up run in her career, her "resume" is faultless.

NOBLE JOEY won with authority at Goulburn with the big weight. He gets the services of James McDonald and has run some solid races in pervious highway races. He has a fitness edge on a few of these.

PROFESSOR MARX gets Blake Shinn after a good run at Muswellbrook. Before that he was only three lengths off Kangarilla Joy in January and that form is more than good enough for this race.

SELECTIONS: No 5 Atom Eve, No 7 Bid Of Faith, No 1 Noble Joey, No 3 Professor Marx
Value Runner: No 7 Bid Of Faith
Atom Eve - 1pt @ 2.15

Race 2 12:30pm Richmond Club Provincial Stayers Championships Final 2100m

DUCA VALENTINOIS resumed as a winner at Warwick Farm in midweek grade. This race is of a similar class for a Saturday and he has always had a big wrap ever since arriving in Australia given his SPs in four Australian runs. The spell looks to have done him a world of good and he looks to be thriving in Australia.

HIPPARCHUS produced a very good second Australian start when winning at Kembla. He has had a trial since that race and was just out to do what was required. The wide open spaces of Hawkesbury should suit him, as well as the services of Brenton Avdulla, who is a man in form right now.

AWARD SEASON looks to have found some semblance of form this preparation. He was a runner up in the Gosford Cup before being beaten by five in the Canberra Cup. He has had a trial since and looked to have some sprint in his legs, which he had not previously shown.

THUNDER LADY hasn’t run in a race as weak as this in a long time. She needs to show if she still wants to be a racehorse or she will be shipped off to stud. This is more than likely her final chance.

SELECTIONS: No 4 Duca Valentinois, No 6 Hipparchus, No 2 Award Season, No 1 Thunder Lady
Value Runner: No 2 Award Season
Duca Valentinois - 1pt @ 2.80

Race 3 1:05pm Blakes Marine Claret Stakes 1300m

ANGHARAD has been going about her business quite professionally at the provincial level and gets her chance at stakes grade here. She is very tough and the market may have underestimated her a touch.

RADCLIFFE was a good winner at Warwick Farm after having no luck on debut. He looks as if he is a horse who would appreciate the step up to 1300m if not further. James McDonald has chosen this ride out of the three Godolphin horses in the race and we should pay close attention to that.

FLOW from the trials has looked as if he has been aimed up at this meeting for a red hot crack on debut. He has the services of Blake Shinn and has trailed nicely on two occasions.

LUBITON was very good when winning on debut at Newcastle after two hot trials. The win was soft and the step up to 1300m should pose no issues. Both Bjorn Baker and Thomas Huet are flying and it would be foolish to dismiss her chances here.

SELECTIONS: No 6 Angharad, No 1 Radcliffe, No 3 Flow, No 8 Lubiton
Value Runner: No 6 Angharad
Angharad - 1pt @ 9.00

Race 4 1:40pm Hawkesbury XXXX Gold Rush 1100m

KURO returns to Joe Pride’s stable and he has been gelded. He has had a trial to get him ready for this and it was a pleasing effort 12 days ago at Hawkesbury. At his best, he is a Group 1 horse. If he is at his best, he will blow this lot away.

FURNACES hasn’t quite lived up to his early promise. He was disappointing in the Fireball but has had two trials since and gets a tongue tie for this first time.

COOLRING has been a model of consistency this preparation and is yet to miss a place from four runs. He was very good in the Weetwood when run down late and, previous to that, was very competitive with Malaguerra.

ALBERTO MAGIC was too bad to be true last start behind Malaguerra. He has had a month between runs here and his fresh form is very good. He drops in grade but does rise 4kgs in the handicap. He is a winner at the track and, at his best, he wouldn’t cause a shock.

SELECTIONS: No 1 Kuro, No 7 Furnaces, No 3 Coolring, No 2 Alberto Magic
Value Runner: No 1 Kuro
Kuro - 1pt @ 8.00

Race 5 2:15pm Lander Toyota Ladies Day Cup Benchmark 85 Handicap 1300m

ROCK FORTHE LADIES didn’t get the best of rides last start and arguably should have been in the finish. His racing pattern should suit Hawkesbury, as he will be able to find the best part of the track and come with one sweeping run.

DANISH TWIST drops in distance after taking every inch of 1400 to win the Provincial Championships last start. He is on the up, and can give a race like this a shake.

BETTER NOT BLUE was good in the Provincial Championships when in the wrong part of the track. Tye Angland should know him by now after two previous race rides on him. He is full of talent and, with the right run in transit, he will be in the finish.

NITE ROCKER on the backup can give his fans a sight again. He was $41 into $26 at Rosehill and was rundown right on the line by Hetty Heights. You can take a line with Hetty Heights through Danish Twist and Better Not Blue in the Provincial Championships to give him a chance in this race.

SELECTIONS: No 3 Rock Forthe Ladies, No 7 Danish Twist, No 4 Better Not Blue, No 5 Nite Rocker
Value Runner: No 3 Rock Forthe Ladies
Rock Forthe Ladies - 1pt @ 4.80

Race 6 2:55pm Godolphin Crown 1300m

AMMIRATA returned in great style over the carnival. She really savaged the line and showed that she wanted to win. She goes to mare’s grade after beating the boys and the step up to 1300m looks ideal.

CRADLE ME deserves another chance here. She may be looking for the further distance and drawing out shouldn’t be an issue as she will drift back and power home. She should find the right part of the track and Jason Collett is riding extremely well at the present.

SHE’S CLEAN is a real smokey here. She has a good fresh record and would not have been out of place in any feature race through the carnival. The trial behind Music Magnate a month ago was very good. She also won the Tibbie fresh last prep and this is a weaker race.

ARTISTRY drops well back in grade after a good run behind Azkadellia in the Queen Of The Turf. That was a Group One against some of the best mares in the land. She drops back here to a Group Three and gets the services of Blake Shinn. The drop in distance only suits her, as she didn’t look to run a strong mile at Randwick.

SELECTIONS: No 6 Ammirata, No 7 Cradle Me, No 2 She’s Clean, No 3 Artistry
Value Runner: No 2 She’s Clean
Ammirata - 1pt @ 9.00

Race 7 3:35pm Panthers Hawkesbury Gold Cup 1600m

MIGHTY LUCKY drops 3.5kgs after an impressive win first up over the Carnival. The step up to 1600m suits him and his run behind Happy Clapper in the Villiers is a great form line. His second up record is very good and yet again the market is underestimating him.

STRAWBERRY BOY is another one who should improve when stepping out to the mile second up. He was run down late by Mighty Lucky but does meet him worse at the weights. He has an imposing second up record as well as being unbeaten at the track.

TALES OF GRIMM should improve second up here after two good trials. He gets back onto a good track here and if Collett can extricate him and find clear running, he will be hitting the line powerfully.

BEATEN UP had some solid support first up behind Havana Cooler and was beaten in what was a blanket finish. Barrier 16 is a query as to what he does tactically.

SELECTIONS: No 2 Mighty Lucky, No 5 Strawberry Boy, No 12 Tales Of Grimm, No 4 Beaten Up
Value Runner: No 2 Mighty Lucky
Mighty Lucky - 1pt @ 9.50

Race 8 4:15pm Blacktown Workers Hawkesbury Guineas 1400m

NO MORE TEARS was very good in the James Carr in a race that wasn’t run to suit her. She has won two of her three starts over 1400m and the other was in her previous start in the James Carr.

HANDFAST was ultra-impressive when winning over the Carnival. He showed a tremendous amount of dash when coming up the inside of them. A distance of 1400m does seem to be his go, as he is two from two at the distance this preparation.

RED EXTENSION’s last two wins in much weaker grade have been fantastic. He gets out to the wide open expanses of Hawkesbury which looks suitted as well as the rise in distance. Barrier 11 is quite sticky, but he is bringing an X-Factor to this race.

SPILL THE BEANS was plain behind Japonisme last start. He gets the blinkers off for the first time and it’s more than likely a ploy to get him to run out 1400m. But he is a quality animal in this field and cannot be underestimated going off his runs through the carnival.

SELECTIONS: No 3 No More Tears, No 2 Handfast, No 6 Red Extension, No 1 Spill The Beans
Value Runner: No 6 Red Extension
No More Tears - 1pt @ 7.00

Race 9 4:50pm Fishboy Seafoods BM 77 Handicap 1500M

MACKINTOSH has come to the Chris Waller yard after what looked to be a disappointing run in the Randwick Guineas. However, he was first up into that and it may have come a bit too soon for him. He drops right back in grade to a 77 and gets the services of Brenton Avdulla. There has been some good money for him in early markets which suggest he is going well.

TRAFALGAR was fantastic when winning fresh over an unsuitable distance. Last preparation he got out over a trip and looks to be on a Derby campaign. He is well weighted after the claim for Rory Hutchings and from gate 1 he is going to get a perfect run in the race.

CARELESS gets a handy 3kg claim for Nick Heywood, who has been riding well in the provincials and country circuit. He gets a chance for Godolphin on a horse that is going better than his form reads. He also gets a 4kg swing on Trafalgar for their meeting last start and gets the blinkers again. His second up form reads well for this.

RUSTIC MELODY is starting to get out to a trip after trying to stay "fresh" for the Provincial Championships. The three weeks between runs suits and she is a winner at the track.

SELECTIONS: No 14 Mackintosh, No 9 Trafalgar, No 6 Careless, No 8 Rustic Melody
Value Runner: No 14 Mackintosh
Mackintosh - 1pt @ 6.00
