Mornington R1 No.2 - BITE THIS

Went really nice in what was a slick race at Cranbourne 10 days ago over the 1000m, rolled to the front and was taken on by a fellow leader. They ended up going very hard and set it up for a smart one to come home over the top (who looks metro-class). Fancy he's now at his peak and gets a nice little weight swing with the claim from gun apprentice Ben Allen. Rail out/finding the front, he should be hard to beat.

Mornington R5 No.11 - MADDIE MOO MOO

She's a nice enough style of filly that really should be winning in this sort of company, was competitive with much better gallopers late last year (Petites Reward & Magna Rossa) when at no stage disgraced. Was thought of highly enough to head to Flemington on New Years Day for an $80,000 race where she did go ok. Blinkers back on for her return this afternoon and she has gone well fresh in the past, looks the one to run down.

Mornington R7 No.7 - BON JET

Been racing really well of late in decent enough company this fella, was quite impressed with the way he stuck to his business at Cranbourne over the 1200m recently. Did some work/in the worst part of the track but was only beaten by swoopers with the softer run (found better going). Rail out here at Mornington in a race that doesn't look to have mad tempo on paper will suit, and he's close to his top from a fitness perspective.

Ipswich R1 No.5 - SNAPPER ROCKS

Has progressed well like a coming winner with each run to date this prep, two efforts at 1400m were sound before he jumped to the 1700m here two weeks ago and chased very well. Was in no-mans land in transit but managed to sustain a run to only go down narrowly. Trifecta across the line were all handy to the early tempo so his run has plenty of merit against the pattern. Step up in trip again looks like it'll suit at this point of his prep, with some luck in running he'll go close.
