Ballarat R4 No.2 - BERRI CHERRY
Thought she was really good on debut back in December as an early season 2yo, was well backed over the 900m when just finding one a bit sharp - that winner went to town two weeks later and won again so I reckon there was some merit to the effort. Has been given time to physically develop/mature, she'll no doubt be a better horse for that original preparation. She'll roll to the front from the wide draw and be very hard to beat in my book.

Ballarat R5 No.6 - DUSTY MAMBA
Went super second-up up at the 'bool on a bottomless track when he chased well behind a leader that was off and gone at the turn, made ground against the pattern of the day and he was second-up to 1400m to 1700m off a nine month break (suggest a touch flat and still improving). Big fitness edge with that run on a testing surface at the trip under his belt and if anything no issue back to a mile. Should get the right run on the map 2-3 pairs back and if pattern suits he'll storming home over the top late.

Ballarat R6 No.3 - CHARLIE GARCON
Very taken by his trial at Cranbourne 9/5 on a bog track over 800m where he absolutely brained them, now wary of the surface but the manner in which he went about his business was impressive. Went around favourite in the same race as Petits Filous in July of last year and couldn't get near her (G1 filly) but has been competitive with some smart ones around that. Does go well fresh (despite what happened last prep) and he really shouldn't have many excuses, clearly going well and can win!
Charlie Garcon - 1pt @ 2.40
Ballarat R7 No.9 - PRINCE TARKEIDA
Really nice 3yo taking on the older horses here but I reckon he's got some scope, was excellent winning fresh over the 1200m at Pakenham before going well at Cranbourne without much luck - reckon with clear running he goes very close. Third-up should be close to his top and he gets a nice little pull in the weights, back to 1200m a positive too. Has been competitive with Badawiya/Tivaci previously which is elite form.
Prince Tarkeida - 1pt @ 6.00
Randwick R1 No.1 - FLOW
Made significant ground on debut at Hawkesbury over 1300m but just ran into a good one, was making the jump off one 800m trial so he'll no doubt improve lengths for that run and this race lacks plenty of quality. Rail back to the true should give plenty of swoopers there chance down the centre lanes of the track, tempo will be genuine too which helps. Nice horse who'll be suited getting to 1400m aswell.
Flow - 1pt @ 2.10
Randwick R6 No.14 - CIARLET
The full sister to multiple G1 winner Zoustar was very impressive and totally dominant winning fresh at Gosford two weeks ago, did it in a hand canter by 7 lengths (time was ok). Can't see any reason why she won't have taken great benefit from the run and drawing out later in the day might not be a massive issue. If she's progressed then she'll again be very hard to beat, clearly has a ceiling beyond this lot but it is a task to step up regardless. She seems capable.
Ciarlet - 1pt @ 4.40
Ipswich R2 No.1 - AMBITIOUS BLONDE
Couldn't quite pick them up over the 800m (much too short) but still went very well here two weeks ago, no doubt strips fitter and 1100m will suit. Draws for the charmed run of the race and can sit a touch closer if need be, appears to have this lot covered - if she runs to her mark fresh/improves will be winning this today.
