Echuca R1 No.5 - OUTDONE
Went enormously in whats proved a good form race at Sandown two weeks ago over the 1400m, led on a good tempo but was just nosed out by a smart one with the right run. Third horse Sacred Theme has since bolted in at Pakenham and fancy getting to the mile/third-up he'll be very hard to beat. Sting out no issue and will be rolling forward, Echuca plays notoriously favourable to those handy to the early speed.

Echuca R7 No.9 - FAST AND FREE (each-way)
Bit of a non-winner but I dont mind current conditions as I feel they suit, he's a horse that has gone well fresh in the past (jump-outs have been ok this time in) and he gets in on the minimum/from a friendly draw. Can either lead/box-seat and look to be right there at the 200m. Goes well heavy tracks and was competitive with some smart ones last preparation. Comes up a big price so happy to have something each-way.
Fast and Free - 0.5pt @ 7.00
Pakenham R3 No.2 - BRUGAL REWARD
She's the fit horse against plenty of debutants, which is usually a very promising recipe. Rivals haven't produced a whole lot at the jumpouts and her two recent runs over the 1000m have been very good (in smart company). Should roll to the front at a genuine tempo and basically just be too sharp for them. Sting out of the track no worries and despite the long straight leaders usually have every chance with pattern often suiting.
Brugal Reward - 1pt @ 2.10
Pakenham R5 No.3 - ALL AUSSIE
Liked her recent trial on a bog track at Cranbourne where she proved she's returned in good order off the back of a long break. Also like the 6 day turnaround off that trial which suggests to me she should be fairly wound up and ready to go. Did beat a handy bunch on debut on the syntho around this time last year in pretty good style, before going to town and just going ok. She'll slot in midfield with cover (might be a touch deep) but can sprint with them and go close.

Pakenham R9 No.7 - LIGHTNING BELLE
Made enormous ground late against the pattern at Caulfield in what was a smart race, winner is off the the G1 Qld Oaks (and is a live chance) so the form out of it looks ok. Tempo on paper looks genuine enough and most D.Weir horses usually appreciate being able to get their toe in the ground, He'll appreciate having had the run at 2000m and will be storming home over the top of them late.
Lightning Bell - 1pt @ 2.60
