Ballarat Race One
Thought he was excellent when a month between runs at Geelong over the 1100m, shades came off and as a result he raced much more tractably. Just missed to the city-class Bon Dancer, so no knock on that form. Maps for the PR (perfect run) and doesn't have a whole lot of opposition to overcome. Should be far too good.
Ballarat Race Four
Was magnificent in defeat at Geelong 12 days ago when progressing to the 1400m for the first time. Did all the donkey work on a shifting surface and was only nabbed late by Torelli (stable have an opinion of). They smashed everything else and I like the recipe of a testing run at the trip before progressing
Ballarat Race Five
Thought she brained a smart group of Maidens at Cranbourne three weeks ago on debut, 3rd and 6th from the race have come out and both smacked their rivals in respective events since so the form is terrific. Will again lead and be too good, she's really smart!
Ballarat Race Seven
He's a swimmer and improved out of sight in his second Australian start at Pakenham over 2000m, just missed when making ground late. Like he's since had a spin over the hurdles (2400m) in a trial which will again have bought him up to the mark. Horse on the rise against an average lot and has the fitness base to be winning. Can settle closer for the friendly draw if need be.
Warwick Farm Race One
Gee I liked what he did fresh, went really nicely on debut at Hawkesbury two weeks ago over the 1000m, was snagged early after jumping and began to make ground when deep at the 600m. Leader went all the way so his effort to run on v. pattern was good. Improved to 1200m and looks to take a much more prominent spot in running from gate 2.
Warwick Farm Race Two
She's clearly the pick of this lot, his effort in a slick Woodlands Stakes at Scone was excellent (only bettered by what could be a star). That form should certainly be enough to handle this lot, many of which are returning. Can find a spot midfield with a cart into the race and just be too good. 1300m seems suitable at this stage of his prep.
Warwick Farm Race Four
He was just given absolutely no chance last start, was ridden dead cold after jumping ok on a leaders track and as a result never fired, run fresh was huge (should have won) but fancy plenty of boxes ticked today. Speed on paper looks good, race plates first time and a cross-over noseband is to be used. Third-up he's ready to win. Best form in Europe is all 2000m+.
