Tom Gilmore has got four tips today to get your week off with a bang!
Looks his race, should cross from the wide draw and take plenty of running down in a very average field. Went nicely last start here two weeks ago over the 1300m when just collared late, winner looks above average and runner-up has since come out and won well. If anything back to 1200m will suit and fourth-up he should hit his physical peak.
Really nice filly, is a horse with nice upside, thought she was rather impressive winning at Pakenham over a mile when receiving no favours mid-race, still ran through the line exceptionally well (final 200m was slick) and gave every indication that the step to 1900m would suit. Gets a much more favourable draw and keen she'll take closer order mid-race. Could be a filly worth following.
Promising horse returning, was runner-up in an outstanding form race at Sandown earlier this year over 1200m (after sound debut at Moonee Valley), then proceeded to belt an average bunch of maidens at Ballarat. Has been given time to mature and recent jump-out at Flemington 10/6 was terrific - looks in magnificent order and will be winning better races than this.
Comes out of the right sort of form race at Rosehill two weeks ago when 4 lengths off Kings Officer (horse has since won again in town). The return to this sort of grade and with the sting out of the track should see him very hard to beat, gets the right run on the map and really has no excuses.
