Echuca R1 No.1 - BENNY GOES BERZERK
Trialled quite well on a soft track prior to his debut failure at Geelong (synthetic), he did make some ground late so clearly the 1000m was too sharp for him. Fancy back onto the turf with a day at the races under his belt/progression to 1200m we'll see him be a major improver.
Benny Goes Berzerk - 1pt @ 3.00
Echuca R3 No.7 - DISSEMINATE (x2 NAP)
Debuted in a very slick midweek metro maiden at Sandown back in February, beat home many subsequent winners and wasn't far away from Popovich (sold for big money to HK). Has trialled up well at Flemington for her return today and really should be just a class above what is a fairly average bunch.
Disseminate - 2pt @ 1.75
Echuca R8 No.1 - MANTANAR LA FE
Intrigues, haven't seen him at the races since November last year when he got within 8 lengths of Malaguerra, that horse has since gone on to win a G1 along with runner-up Good Project. Was a fairly hot form race that should certainly stand-up in this sort of grade. Does go well fresh/soft track no issue but haven't seen any trials, prepared to say he's good enough.
Mantaner La Fe - 1pt @ 5.50
Echuca R10 No.11 - STORMSABREWING
This is a really promising filly, fizzed up terrible when well backed at Flemington two weeks ago over the 1400m (in a hot race) and never looked likely from then on. If she improves her manners she'll no doubt return to that sort of grade in time but fancy she can beat this lot on pure natural ability alone.
