Authenticated, who had no luck last time and has accomplished rider Steve Arnold to steer, is a danger while I Am Ruben was placed at his previous three starts in the provincials before flopping at Flemington in stronger class.

Jersey Girl has been most honest and with apprentice Michael Dee’s 1.5kg claim she carries 55kg and is drawn to be prominent on the rail. Kalashani Lad has the blinkers back on and the experience of Darren Gauci, so could prove dangerous. The Darren Weir-trained Matagami is a threat after being freshened and aided by the 3kg claim of apprentice Kyle Maskiell, who will carry 55.5kg.

Oncidium Ruler will carry a mere 52.5kg with apprentice Jake Bayliss’s 2kg claim and he appears an emerging stayer with one win and two placings at five starts. Northern Journey will carry 53kg with apprentice Jessica Payne’s 3kg claim and is rock hard now with three runs over a journey under his belt.

Tessabelle won two straight here in March. She was too fresh and pulled hard last time. With Craig Williams on top, expect her to be a big chance. Virginia Water was closing late but the post came up too fast. With apprentice Beau Merten’s 3kg claim she gets in light on 51kg. Melaleuca won over 1600m last start second-up so will be even fitter now.

Been Scene won two straight on provincial tracks before latest sixth at Mornington. She gets a fair weight with apprentice Jordan Childs’ 1.5kg claim on 56.5kg and barrier (10) she can overcome. Raven’s Fire has been knocking on the door with two good thirds at Ballarat. With the claim of apprentice Beau Mertens, she gets 56.5kg and is drawn well in (6). Expect Chemistry to be closing late. She has Dwayne Dunn to steer and won over 1200m last preparation.

Deal With It broke her maiden class last start at her third career run. She has a big weight on 59.5kg but has top trainer Darren Weir and jockey Brad Rawiller to offset her handicap. Movie charged home to go down when running third to Kinshachi, over 1200m first up on June 13th. Will strip fitter for the outing and is a danger in an open race. Powerful Story charged home in what was a tough run last start at Moonee Valley. Jumps up 5kg to 59.5kg but is respected. Four Sisters is up a grade here on her maiden win last start. She tore away to win by five lengths and this is only her third career outing. She shows plenty of promise.

This is a big field and wide open betting. Chivadahlii is from the top stable of Darren Weir and has jockey Brad Rawiller on board. He has had two solid runs over 1200m and is ready to step up. Cool Cool World won two straight at Geelong and gave a good effort when chasing hard to finish third over 1300m at Geelong most recently. Bad draw in (17), but form is spotless. Human League indicated he was ripe for a good first-up effort with a trial win over 1200m. He likes the sting out of the ground. Longkissgoodnight had no luck first-up but preserved to run second. From five starts she has finished inside the money four times.

This is a tough one for the last. Mr Wonderful was a strong winner over 2000m when lumped on 60kg 38 days ago. He carries 56kg with apprentice Beau Mertens’ claim. Awakening has proven to be a tough galloper with two hard-fought wins over 1400m and 1600m. He drops a kilo here to 58.5kg on his last start. Distant Rock is rock hard and gets some relief with a drop in grade and with Dylan Dunn’s claim will carry 59kg. Calibrate carries 57kg again with apprentice Michael Dee’s claim, the same weight he lumped to win on a bog track last start.
