Moonee Valley R1 No.11 - ATHENA LASS

Debutant who trialled exceptionally at Wangaratta over 900m (6/7), jumped beautifully/settled in behind the leader and peeled at the bend to run away from them under minimal urgings. Ran good time too and they streeted the rest of the field. Reckon she gets a beautiful run on the map from gate 2 and certainly looks like she may be above average, 1000m might be a slight query but natural talent/ability could see her get over the line.

Moonee Valley R5 No.6 - APPALACHIAN ANNIE

Thought her effort fresh here at The Valley two weeks ago over the 1000m was good, ended up rolling at a mad tempo and as a result fitness told/weakened late. Think she'll get a easier time of it finding the fence (yes to the wide draw) here today and if she's taken good improvement she'll take plenty of catching, gets in well relative weights!

Moonee Valley R6 No.6 - THE DYNAMO (x2 NAP)

Went very nicely fresh at Sandown off the back of a few smart trials, just found the race fit Gun Case a touch slick (missed late) and he cut the corner. Meets that horse at the same weights but does take good benefit/improves physically and does draw favourably in an inside marble. Is 2/2 second-up and maps for the PR of the race, should be winning and turning the tables.

Moonee Valley R7 No.1 - KIEVANN

Reckon his latest outing here at Moonee Valley was excellent 4 weeks ago, was a very slick race (winner/runner-up both very good Saturday-class horses) and he did an excellent job to lead them up. Only faded late (was second-up to 1200m) so reckon he still had improvement to come, gets in well at the weights thanks to the claim from B.Mertens and he does map to find the lead again. Pattern might mean it could be very difficult to make ground later in the day and therefore fairly favourable!

Moonee Valley R8 No.2 - SPREADEAGLED

Was no match for a few smart ones in a very high-rating race here at Moonee Valley four weeks ago, drops significantly in grade and does draw for the right run on the map (had a solid spin around in a trial recently). Reckon he'll sit two-three pairs off the leaders (looks a genuine tempo) and wind up from the 600m to be far too strong late, is 2 from 3 at Moonee Valley/1600m.
Spreadeagled - 1pt @ 4.40

Warwick Farm R5 No.1 - SNIPER

Win fresh was mighty impressive coming from the rear of the field to blouse them, 2nd and 3rd horses have since come out and won out of the race (rated well!) and he no doubt takes good benefit second-up/stepping to 1300m. If pattern allows it he should be again strong late, gets in well relative weights and should get a cart into the event. Might be worth following this prep!
