Ipswich R1 No.1 - INVITTO

Don't often like playing in these sort of races, but this filly should just be far too slick for them. Returned fresh at Dalby ten days ago and just went straight to the front and never looked troubled. She'll clearly take good benefit from that (was six months between runs) and sticks at the weights (helpful!). Gets in super relative weights and should fairly comfortably find the fence. Her sustained speed will be too much for this lot, rates to win it again.

Geelong R1 No.2 - MAGINOT LINE

Thought he trialled nicely v. some smart gallopers in a recent hit-out at Flemington (1/7 over 800m) in ok time. Jumped well, settled and basically went around under his own steam. On debut this time last year over the 1000m on the pro-ride at Pakenham he went super, just missed and despite the time wasn't anything outstanding, gave every indication he'd be winning races. Didn't come back the same horse earlier this year when he had excuses on two occasions, like him fresh here with the perfect run on the map and suggest he's in good order off recent work!

Geelong R2 No.1 - JERVOIS NIGHT (x2 NAP)

Anything $2 or more is stealing money in my humble opinion. This horse ran to a very solid rating when returning earlier this year at The Valley, settled in the second half of the field and made terrific ground against the race pattern/bias of the day to just miss. Has been given time to mature since and recent spin around at Flemington over 800m (1/7) was very promising, wasn't asked to do a whole lot, but did it well. Will box seat and just be far too good.

Geelong R3 No.1 - ANNRHON

Was a moral beaten after copping a very poor steer fresh here at Geelong two weeks ago, got well out of her ground but did get wound up late to savage the line late (splits were good!). Strips fitter and looks better to 1200m, don't mind the wind draw for her. Suggest they'll take a more prominent spot in running this time in. Can sit three-deep/cover and be too strong late. Runner-up from that effort on debut has since come out and gone well again!

Geelong R6 No.4 - SULLIVAN BAY

Going really well this filly, has spent the last two months in the Hayes satellite stable over in Adelaide and has acquitted herself nicely in good company. Last two efforts when leading over the 1200m have found the bottom of her, reckon latest she wasn't in 'A' ground so there were excuses along with the fact 1200m isn't her pet trip. Interesting she drops back to the 1000m, but I like the recipe. She should find the front with the market fav from gate 4 and is rock-hard fit, would love to see her run them along early.
