Echuca R1 No.10 - PRIME TURF

This is a terrible race, so reckon being a horse on the up he's clearly the one to beat. Thought he ran through the line ok/made ground at Geelong over the 1300m two weeks when finding an awkward spot in running, his effort prior at Warrnambool on a bog track he sat much handier and did get within 2 lengths of since Flemington winner Loch Oir (good reference!). Looks like a mile suits and we know he gets through the going, that 'Bool rating is easily good enough for this.

Echuca R2 No.9 - WOODBINE MISS

Thought she went well when resuming from a 2 month break at Wodonga three weeks ago, fitness just told late at the end of 1400m and winner had the soft-trip mid race. Takes good benefit from a physical viewpoint and should cross to find the fence from the wide marble, if she can control the tempo in transit and look to up the ante from the 600m, she'll take a power of catching late. Gets through the going ok and big tick with the booking of C.Parish.

Echuca R7 No.8 - LOOK AT ME NOW (x2 NAP)

Has been very good this prep once stepping stepping to a trip, just nabbed late when stepping to 2200m on the pro-ride at Pakenham just over a week ago, don't reckon thats his preferred surface. Effort prior to that at Warrnambool on a bottomless track was superb, gave an average lot a hiding (won eased down by 6 lengths) but had plenty in hand. Reckon he'll take a spot mid-field and begin to track into the race from the 800m, he's a metro/midweek class galloper and can 'rate down' and win this.

Sandown R5 No.1 - ONCIDIUM RULER

Like the quick back-up for this fella, his run at Caulfield in good company was better than what it looked - leader had a picnic of things and managed to kick/win well, he hit the line nicely from worse than midfield but 2400m may have found the bottom of him. Like the drop back to 2100m and the sting out suits, clear peaks have been soft/heavy tracks and he does have the shades go on for the first-time, expect him to take closer order and be too good.

Echuca R9 No.4 - AVENUE WHISPER

Genuine city-class mare who strikes very favourable conditions today, no concern the four weeks between runs, latest effort at Flemington over a mile in the Rivette Series Final was very good, got within 3 lengths of two very promising fillies. Best win/effort to date was over the 1400m at Cranbourne when she led/dominated the race (yes to a drop in trip!), that was also on a bog track. Should cross to the front and just be better than them.

Sandown R6 No.1 - BABY DONT CRY

Was ridden upside-down (against usual pattern) here at Sandown a month ago over 1300m and was terrific, came home over the top of them down the centre of the track in 'A' ground to score comfortably (runner-up since been competitive in better company!). Reckon if anything she's better suited back to 1200m and she does grow a leg when able to get her toe into the surface. Like she draws out, gets in well relative weights, and pattern should suit.

Sandown R7 No.3 - JUSTA HINT

Win here ten days ago was very good, and better than the nose margin it reads. He jumped well and found himself on the fence tracking the leaders (walked early). He over-raced/got his head up and never appeared to travel too comfortably. Then when needing to improve he found rump-steak, was forced to snag off heels (lost all momentum) and then pick-up again, showed tremendous dash in the final furlong to come home over the top. Suggest he'll find the box-seat today and look to find clear galloping room from the 600m, with no in-running issues he'll win.

Sunshine Coast R4 No.4 - CENTAURO

Nice 1000m speedster this fella, he is six weeks between runs (was back in Wagga) when going well over 1200m on a bog track, reckon 1200m found the bottom over him so back to five furlongs/freshened looks a very promising recipe. Should roll to the front from the wide marble and take plenty of catching, can pinch a break on key rivals early.
