Swan Hill R1

Swan Hill R1 No.12 - RATHER SILKY

Certainly the best of the debutants and going off her recent trial at St Arnaud (26/7) over 900m, she'll give this an almighty shake. Like the way she just jumped on the bunny in that hit-out, she then settled well and quickened under minimal urgings to run through the line nicely. Looks a bit of speed here, think she's drawn favourably to possibly just take a trail in behind the leaders and peel off their backs at the 200m, can be strong through the line - soft track no issue!

Swan Hill R3

Swan Hill R3 No.3 - MR SINATRA

Thought his debut was very good at Echuca three weeks ago over the 1200m (bog track), he jumped well but was restrained/pulled in the early stages before improving into the race and only going down narrowly to a smart one in Benny Goes Berzerk (should have won at Flemington since). That sort of form looks excellent for this and considering he fought the rider early, his effort through the line had merit. Reckon he takes good benefit physically and he again gets the PR on the map. Should take plenty of beating.

Swan Hill R4

Swan Hill R4 No.4 - LOVE MAGIC

Debutant here in whats a fairly average field, don't think he'll need to be a superstar to win this. That being said thought he did trial well at St Arnaud (26/7) over 900m, jumped nicely and eyeballed Licorice Bullet throughout (that horse has since won well), before extending when asked for an effort. Appeared to get through the ground easily and do like the wide draw. B.Egan will roll forward and sit leaders girth before looking to up the ante at the 400m.

Swan Hill R7

Swan Hill R7 No.2 - CHAMAREL

Clearly the best horse in the race and despite the fact he hasn't trialled publicly, I'm keen to back him. His best form is very good, when based in NSW he showed to be a genuine city-performer. Think his best effort was arguably his last across the border when winning at Gosford (1200m), that race rated very well and he had the better of Super Tycoon - that horse has recently put together three wins on the trot (all $85,000 races in town!). Forgiving of Flemington failure earlier this year, he can rate down and win this.
