Geelong R1 No.2 - MAGENTAZ
Second-up to a mile at Pakenham two weeks ago jockey just totally fell asleep at the wheel, basically didn't get active/into the race until it was all over. Under the circumstances he ran through the line very well and gave every impression he'd relish the progression to 1900m. Like the booking of D.Oliver and from the inside draw suggest he'll be much handier to the early tempo. Only bad luck will beat him.

Geelong R2 No.9 - DOMINANT WAY
Was really good despite the fact he copped a poor ride here three weeks ago over the 1100m, for some reason the jockey restrained and he proceeded to over-race fiercely after being crossed. Considering he still managed to flatten out fairly well and run through the line nicely suggests he's got talent (SP'd at $71). Reckon getting to the 1200m they'll let him roll to the front, if he can run them along (third-up/peaks) he could take plenty of catching.

Geelong R4 No.12 - WAZAMBA
Proven galloper who's been competitive with some really smart ones, debut at Moonee Valley back in March over the 1000m was excellent. Rolled to the front and was only nabbed late by swooper, then good in $80,000 race at Caulfield before being again run down at Bendigo third-up by Throssell (that horse won Stakes race at Flemington following!). Has jumped-out on two occasions at Flemington and looked good, should again roll to the front and be too good in this sort of company.

Geelong R7 No.6 - ANATOLA
Smart mare who went to the line basically untested at Caulfield when finding traffic problems, run two weeks prior at the track/trip was also excellent. Set a solid tempo mid-race and was only run down late by a swooper with the soft run. This is a significant drop in grade and she manages to get in well at the weights, can lead/box seat and be far too slick. Anything around the +$2 mark is juicy.

Ipswich R1 No.9 - HOW BIG'S THE HOLE?
Slightly disappointing fresh but happy forgive, interesting to see the blinkers come off today - reckon she got very fizzy pre-race here a month ago so a slight freshen won't have hurt. Wide draw won't be an issue, she'll jump straight on the bunny and with just the 50kgs be far too sharp for her rivals, better back on top of the ground too.
How Big's The Hole - 1pt @ 2.60
Ipswich R8 No.1 - BANCROFT
Got to the 1350m for the first time this prep here two weeks ago and never looked troubled, won eased down by 3 lengths basically and had something left to give. Only rises 1kg at the weights and this arguably isn't any better of a field, from the inside marble he'll again find the front and fancy pattern will suit those handy at the bend. Can slip away from them at the 400m and offer too much to run down.
