Sale R1 No.12 - HE'S THE BOSS (each-way)
Debutant here, keen on the way he trialled at Cranbourne 8/8 over 990m, settled nicely in behind the leaders/pealed at the bend and really ran through the line nicely under his own steam. Impressed with the way he got through what was a very shifting surface (soft today) and he clearly had more to give if need be. Like they kick him off at the 1400m (didn't get warm until late in the trial) and inside draw with the rail back to the true could be advantageous early. Worth a spec each-way!

Sale R2 No.12 - I AINT THE ONE
Pretty limited bunch this, quite keen on the new season 3yo here coming off what was an impressive jump-out at Flemington last Friday (12/8 800m). Typical High Chaparral who improved from first jump-out (only fair) with the addition of blinkers. He seemed to settle well and the way he ran through the line under a hold in decent enough time was good. 1400m fresh no issue, can position up somewhere near the speed and be a bit too good for them. Pace doesn't look overly hot so can control things throughout.

Sale R4 No.7 - CARTERISTA (x2 NAP)
Debut was exceptional at Caulfield 6 weeks ago over the 1100m, bombed the kick/did everything wrong and the flashed home late. Was basically a certainty beaten (winner since runner-up G3/Saturday winner again). Second-up was ridden much handier than anticipated, looked like she resented it somewhat but still did manage to find the line ok. Expect from the wide draw they'll go back and look to find cover, speed looks solid enough on paper so she'll be rounding them up late. Rates to be far too good for this lot.

Sale R7 No.9 - KALIDAZ
Smart mare returning for the first time since April, she has gone very well fresh in her two first-up attempts to date. Latest she pushed a smart one at Ballarat over 1100m before improving second-up to win here at Sale. On that occasion she beat home Beachley (went ok G2 Edward Manifold) and Gingie (since Saturday metro winner). That race rated well and those formlines are very strong, she trialled ok at Cranbourne and wide draw suits. She'll roll forward and take plenty of running down, big tick sting out.

Hawkesbury R1 No.6 - SIRMAGIC
Debuted in a slick race at Wyong earlier this year over 1100m and went super, managed to get within 1.5 lengths of Firsthand (quality galloper and did win second start Saturday grade in Melbourne!). Then went Muswellbrook with the run under his belt and flogged them by 4 lengths eased down. Think he's returned a better galloper going off his trial at Gosford (1/8) when he wasn't knocked about, went through the line under his own steam. Winner of that heat went down narrowly earlier this week. He'll be too good here.
Sir Magic - 1pt @ 2.25
Hawkesbury R6 No.3 - MORE TO GAIN
Resumed in great style fresh on a bog track over 1200m where fitness just told late, he'd have tightened up significantly from that run (only one trial prior) and out to 1400m is certainly a major tick. Maps for the PR of the race in the box-seat and does look the horse on the up v. key rival. 1400m run in December of last year was around genuine Group-class gallopers in Torgersen (runner-up G2 since) and Tarquin (started $4.60 in G1 SA Derby), that rates far and away above this lot.
