SEBRIKKA has won impressively at her two Victorian starts to amass a record of three starts for two wins. Won here at her last start on July 16 and has been kept ticking over with a solid second in a 1000m trial at Tatura on August 16. She is a strong chance.

PERFECTLY SAFE is a stable-mate to Sebrikka and she will either lead or box seat. Scored a brilliant win at Sandown before narrowly beaten at the same track as a $4 favourite on August 7. Top jockey Dwayne Dunn staying on board is a big plus.

SMART AS YOU THINK makes appeal as a lightly raced filly on the rise. With apprentice Michael Dee’s 1.5kg claim she will carry a mere 52.5kg and although she is still a maiden she has impressed at her only two starts for two good thirds in the city.

PRINCE OF BROOKLYN is racing in peak form and with champion jockey Damien Oliver replacing apprentice Ben Allen he comes into this race with very strong claims. He won exceptionally well over this trip on August 13 at his last start.

JUNGLE EDGE kicked home to run a solid second to the talented but wayward Voodoo Lad in the Regal Roller here on August 13. Apprentice Beau Mertens’ 3kg claim will see him carry 51kg and expect him to fire again.

HE’S OUR ROKKII is a dual Group 3 winner making his reappearance. He is a talented four-year-old and will be sure to be wound up for this despite having not trialled. Dwayne Dunn has stuck to the former NZ galloper.

MAURUS returns to his home after a most successful campaign in Queensland where he won the Ipswich Cup. Apprentice Ben Thompson’s 2kg claim reduces his impost to 58.5kg and he has an excellent first-up record.

MY SISTER LIL deserves a change of luck and it could be here. She again charged home to be narrowly beaten by Nadeem Lass at Flemington at her last start on August 6. In-form jockey Damian Lane replaces 3kg apprentice Ben Allen.

SHE’S CLEAN hails from the leading Sydney stables of Chris Waller and will have Damien Oliver to steer. She charged home into third place to the smart Ulmann over 1400m at Flemington on August 6. She goes up to 60kg here but is worthy.

GABELLA will be steaming home here first-up. She bowed out on a winning note over 2020m at Morphettville last campaign. Apprentice Regan Bayliss’s 1.5kg claim will see her carry 56kg and she faces only her own sex.

VIBRANT ROUGE is off the quick back up after charging into second place over 1200m at Moonee Valley last Saturday. She gets a big relief in weight down to 52kg with apprentice Beau Mertens’ 3kg claim.

BADAJOZ is a four-year-old stallion who has loomed up to threaten at his two Melbourne starts since coming down from Sydney. With Michael Dee’s 1.5kg claim he gets in on 56.5kg and with any breaks can win here.

HEZA RIPPER is far better suited here around the bend than last start when he ran second to Camdus down the straight 1200m at Flemington on August 6. With Dylan Dunn’s 2kg claim he will again carry 57kg.

THE JUSTICE LEAGUE is a new import for the top stable of Darren Weir. He capped his New Zealand career with a Group 2 win at Trentham on March 19. Jordan Childs’ 1.5kg claim helps his weight to carry 60.5kg.

BON AURUM won the Caulfield Guineas Prelude before running ninth in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas last spring. He is a very smart type resuming from the top stables of Ciaron Maher and with Ben Thomspon’s 2kg claim will carry 60kg.

REDZEL won the July Sprint at Canterbury at his last start. Peter and Paul Snowden warmed him up for his return with a nice trial win over 1000m at Warwick Farm on August 12. Top Melbourne jockey Mark Zahra takes the ride.

HELLBENT fought hard to pull away to a half length win first-up over 1000m at Sandown on August 10. Ace jockey Damien Oliver replaces 3kg apprentice Ben Allen for this bigger assignment and he is from the record-breaking yard of Darren Weir.

WE’VE GOT THIS was flying at the end of his last preparation to claim successive wins over 1200m at Caulfield and Flemington back in February. Craig Newitt keeps the ride and though he has no trial form he should go well fresh.

HIGHLAND BEAT (Next Best Bet) was an enormous run first-up when he charged home to narrowly miss beating Russian Revolution in the Group 3 Vain Stakes here on August 13. Damian Lane replaces Craig Williams and he should strip fitter.

BLUE TYCOON has a record of two wins and a second at his three starts. He is first-up after climaxing his last campaign with a smart win over 1100m as a $2.70 favourite here on May 14. Expect a bold showing.

HARDHAM gave an eye-catching effort first-up when he flooded home to narrowly go down finishing third in the Group 3 Vain Stakes (1200m) here on August 13. He was a brilliant winner at Pakenham at his debut and will be fitter.

AWAKE IN GRINZING captured the eye when he charged home and fought to the line to win over 1200m at Sandown at his debut on July 27. He drops two kilos to 56kg here and should be suited on a drier track.

BLACK HEART BART (Best Bet) is a star sprinter making his return for trainer Darren Weir. He won the Group 1 Goodwood Handicap in Adelaide before charging home to be narrowly beaten by Under The Louvre in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm in June. Goes well fresh.

PALENTINO is a talented stable-mate to Black Heart Bart. He won the Group 1 Australian Guineas last summer and was charging home to finish fourth to Voodoo Lad in the Regal Roller here first-up on August 13. The run will have done him the world of good.

TAVAGO is a New Zealand galloper who capped his last campaign by winning the Group 1 Australian Derby (2400m) at Randwick on April 2. Melbourne jockey Ben Melham replaces Tommy Berry and there is plenty of upside to the now four-year-old.

HE OR SHE (Best Roughie) won the Blamey Stakes at Flemington before he was raised to Group 1 level where he blazed home to finish eighth to the champion Winx in the Doncaster Mile at Randwick on April 2 at his last start. Will be sprouting wings at the finish.

SECOND BULLET loves this track with a record of five starts for a win, two seconds and a third. He was a $2.70 favourite when chasing hard to run third over 2500m at Flemington June 11. Top jockey Damian Lane is booked to ride.

JESSY BELLE ran a cracking fifth to Miss Cover Girl in the Group 1 Tatts Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm at her final start last June. She is a former Queensland galloper now in the top stables of David Hayes and Tom Dabernig. Respect.

A LOTTA LOVE is a very honest mare who has a good record over this course with two starts for a win. She ran well when finishing fifth to the talented Telopea in the Leilani Final (1400m) at Flemington at her last start on July 9.

OCEAN EMBERS stormed home from the back end to score a convincing last start win over 1100m here for apprentice Regan Bayliss. Dwayne Dunn is the new rider and she boasts an unblemished record of two starts for two wins here.
