Sandown R1 No.3 - I BOOGI

Gets his last chance this fella (costly!) to redeem himself, and on ratings he should take plenty of beating. Effort when well-backed at Bendigo first-time to 1400m was ok (winner looks progressive), tired late after working on-speed and did throw a shoe mid-race (can't help). Think he'll take terrific benefit for the run at the trip and pattern will suit those handy to the speed here with the rail out 10m. Draws well to cross and find the front and keen they stick at the trip, he's at his top and ready to win.

Roughie: Sandown R3 No.7 - SWISS CRAFT

Usually not big on pro-ride back to turf form but think he's come up overs at the double figures in an extremely open race, was very easy in betting when winning at Pakenham two weeks ago rather impressively over the mile. Didn't have a ton of favours but managed to keep coming and really run through the line suggesting the step to 1800m won't be an issue. If he transitions back onto the turf, from the good draw he'll be right in it and does rate as a horse still on the up.

Sandown R4 No.8 - THE DYNAMO

The only form that matters for 1000m races.....is 1000m form, this fella has exactly that. Somewhat of a specialist over the five furlongs (4 wins) and he does go well when freshened (four weeks between runs). Latest effort he was ridden a touch upside-down at Flemington down the straight (inside marble) was ok, he never really travelled comfortably and don't think he was in 'A' ground. Pattern will certainly suit here, he can find the front and pinch a break on them. Gets an extra 4.5kgs off Gun Case for latest meeting.

Best Bet: Sandown R8 No.3 - COOL SNITZEL

Ridden upside-down fresh at Stakes level in SA last start when well fancied, but tailed out. Appears she had some breathing issues on that occasion (tongue-tie goes on today) so prepared to forgive that. Form in most recent prep late last year was nothing short of outstanding, beat home Heatherly over the 1000m here in slick time (since 3rd G1 Oakleigh Plate) which is enormous reading. Think she'll take a much more prominent position in running today and really just be too good.

Next Best: Canterbury R2 No.4 - GLENALL

In a fairly even bunch, I thought this fella trialled exceptionally well at Randwick (15/7, 1050m) on a soft track. Showed terrific gate speed to land on the bunny and appeared to come back under rider T.Clark nicely, when challenged in the straight by Tango Rain (since Saturday winner in town!) he found another gear under minimal urgings and appeared to probably be going the better of the two on the line. Reckon he's got some serious upside and the 1250m fresh/on debut should see him find the front and be too slick.

Canterbury R4 No.11 - SEZANNE

Was enormous fresh on a bog track when winning here three weeks ago, unlike Waller horses to get the job done resuming (usually more to come) and do suggest off the one trial she will have taken terrific benefit from the run. Gets a genuine PR on the map and think she's got plenty of upside, will win this onto better things. They'll take closer order from the good marble and just be too strong late, has a v.slick final 400m! Still keen looking back on her debut when only nabbed by Divine Prophet (that horse live chance in G1 Golden Rose!), thats good enough.

Canterbury R6 No.10 - ROCKAFELLA

Keen on this fella again, he got the job done for us here at Canterbury five weeks ago over the 1100m when strong late. Since been given a quiet spin around over 735m (Randwick 19/8) recently and looked super, like when they trial off a promising win and suggest he's on an upward spiral. Draws favourably and should find the PR (box-seat) of the race and think he rates well stepping to 1200m (splits late good previous two outings off genuine tempos!). Keen to follow as he steps up in grade.
