Mornington R1 No.1 - EAT DESSERT FIRST
Looks a really smart filly going off a couple of jump-outs at Caulfield, latest (30/8, 800m) was very slick in sharp time (last hit-out of the morning). She jumped nicely, settled and then extended like a galloper with talent when asked for an effort. Reckon she's fairly wound-up to run a big race fresh, inside marble makes things interesting. If she can position up one-pair back behind the leaders and look for a gap to improve rounding the bend she could be hard to beat!

Mornington R2 No.6 - VERSOS DE AMOR
Was well fancied on debut down at Geelong on the pro-ride over 1200m but after settling mid-race, she really failed to offer anything. Was found to have inhaled a large portion of the track on that occasion (doesn't help!) so prepared to forgive. Trial prior was good and keen to see her back onto the turf, like the addition of blinkers (had a quiet spin around mid-August with them on) and expect them to be positive early with the drop back to the 1000m. If she can find the front/dictate, can win.

Next Best: Mornington R3 No.9 - SNITTY KITTY
Went around as short-priced fav on debut at Bendigo in a smart maiden (had trialled super leading in), found the front after doing a bit of work but never really looked comfortable (winner has since won again). She was very green and had a good gawk around, so keen with the day out/blinkers on first-time she'll take terrific benefit. Expect the shades to sharpen her up and do like the drop back to 1000m. Will find the front and with the run under her belt be far too sharp.

Roughie: Mornington R7 No.2 - STAR CIRCLE
Effort on a shifting track at Sandown two weeks ago was very good considering she's not necessarily adept on soft surfaces, she was four weeks between runs and drew the carpark, rolled forward and stuck on gamely to hit the line with plenty of steam. Runner-up (who she crossed the line with) came out and won $80,000 race at Moonee Valley last Saturday, thats great form for a drop in grade like this. Firmer the better for her and she should slot in nicely for the right run in transit.

Best Bet: Mornington R9 No.10 - ATOMIC LOKADE
Was something beaten at Cranbourne four weeks ago when returning to the 1200m off solid seven furlong run at Flemington, she travelled sweetly in transit and was just held up at a vital stage when looking to improve, she saw daylight late and ran through the line with vigour (splits good). Like she draws out and the fact they've kept her fresh, if she has a trouble-free run in transit she rates to win this.
Atomic Lokade - 1pt @ 5.00
Hawkesbury R4 No.1 - RADRADRA
Half-brother to worlds best sprinter Chautauqua (no pressure) resuming today off the back of a very impressive trial at Rosehill (30/8, 900m). Bowled around nicely without being asked to extend and did so in good time, suggest he's a nice horse and was always going to be improved for the debut preparation when going down narrowly here back in April. Improvement/average race, if he's going to measure up he'll win this.
