TRIS had no answer to Barthelona first-up when finishing third over 1000m at Sandown on August 31. She is down a half kilo to 55.5kg here and gets senior rider Damian Lane as her new pilot, but her gate in (14) is a setback.

DECOCO has plenty of untapped potential. She began her career with a stylish 2 ¾ length maiden win before being spelled. Showed she was primed for a big effort fresh with her win over 800m in a trial at Cranbourne on September (9).

SELECTIONS: No7 BARTHELONA, No13 Tris, No16 Decoco.

ROCKETEER finished runner-up in the same race as Lord Macau and he too is a three-year-old with plenty of upside. The key here is the jockey change from apprentice Michael Dee to ace jockey Damien Oliver.

KACHING is another three-year-old colt with plenty of natural ability. He claimed his maiden win at his second start over 1400m at Bendigo on August 14. He has not fared well at the gates here in (15), but respected.

SECRET AGENDA has performed at this level and should go well fresh. Last start was wide before running fourth in the Group 2 Ubet Stakes at Morphettville on May 7. Top jockey Damien Oliver riding is a key to her success here fresh.

AMERISTRALIA has been in tip-top form, but does face a rise in class here at Group 3 level. She is unbeaten at her two starts this campaign and was plunged from $2.10 into $1.70 before winning over 1100m at Bendigo at her last start on September 2.

SANTA ANA LANE is not a straight horse and forget his effort last Saturday when running ninth down the straight 1200m in the Bobby Lewis Stakes at Flemington. Ben Melham goes back on top here and he is a superior horse at Caulfield and around a bend.

HUCKLEBUCK is an Adelaide trained sprinter who trialled well at his hometown. He is a class performer and trainer Phillip Stokes and jockey Dominic Tourneur have had outstanding success in Melbourne. He won his trial by nearly two lengths and can go well fresh despite carrying 61kg.

R10 5.25pm MORTIMER PETROLEUM GOLD NUGGET 1700m

NEVIS (Best Roughie) is an Irish import, who will improve sharply on his debut when finishing seventh to the smart Royal Rapture over 1500m at Moonee Valley on August 20. He is from a top punting stable and was not touched last time when a steady $9.50.

TARQUIN is going to be far better suited here. He tended to race too hard first-up when finishing seventh to He’s Our Rokkii over 1400m here on August 27. The extra 300m and settling better with a run under his belt brings him in with good claims.

PROFIT SHARE will relish the trip here and is now fit. Latest ran home after being caught up to five deep when finishing fourth over 1400m at Sandown on August 24. Drops 4kg to 54.5kg and with Harry Coffey to ride is a chance.
