Best Bet: Casterton R3 No.1 - AUTONOMOUS
Went super at Benalla two weeks ago considering he knuckled upon jumping away behind a smart one who has since gone down half-a-length in G2 Tea Rose at Randwick (enormous form!), this bloke was forced to muster early from that point to try and hold a position (which he did). Was found out a touch late after spending that early juice but he did still find the line ok. Ticks plenty of boxes today, like the wide draw/rolls forward and he has shown he gets through heavy tracks with ease. That race at Benalla actually rated ok on the day (3rd horse also since won) and don't think theres any stars in this lot.

Nice mare this who was impressive fresh over the 1005m at Warracknabeal on a soft deck, never really got onto the track and was forced to work three-deep throughout but still found the line (good sign!). The five furlongs wasn't suitable so keen she makes good progression physically out to the 1200m & also draws for the PR of the race in the box-seat. Can't knock her here.

Best Roughie: Casterton R8 No.17 - SINOQUE
Think he's come up big overs considering he strikes fairly suitable conditions, don't think he really handed the poly-track at Pakenham 9 days ago and his effort prior to that he found the worst part of the track at Benalla, rail true/heavy track expect leaders to be fairly advantaged throughout the day and the race lacks speed on paper. If he can find the front and get a cheap mid-race split he can kick at the 600m (rock-hard fit) and take plenty of catching. Keen to play each-way!
