Next Best: Sale R1 No.12 - POSITIVE CARRY
Liked the debut here ten days ago over the 1400m behind a nice horse in Desert Grey (pushed the highly promising He's The Boss start prior), he made good ground and was certainly doing his best work late when balanced (against pattern), suggest he had good improvement to come physically and certainly no disadvantage making a progression to 1700m. Can take closer order from the good marble and gets a big jockey change with C.Williams going on-board, rates well enough (progressive) in an average bunch.
Positive Carry - 1pt @ 3.00
Best Bet: Sale R2 No.8 - ROYAL SHAME
Went super rolling to the front second-up at Sandown two weeks ago, set a strong gallop mid-race, kicked and was only nabbed by the smart Ticketing (ridden forward for the first time). They comfortably held third and suggest in a race today that lacks tempo he can again slide across from the wide marble. Progression to 1400m should suit (more leisurely tempo) and the race really has no speed engaged. He maps to be the right horse and if pattern allows it he'll be winning. Expect peak third-up.

Sale R5 No.5 - MOSS 'N' DALE
Was a month between runs at Moonee Valley three weeks ago when making the progression 1400m to 1500m, went well and did have every chance but was only a length off some very classy 4yo's (race rated ok). Think the drop back to 1400m/big track suits him, not sure he totally got around The Valley so fancy he finds another length or two (fitter for the run) and he should be rolling forward from the wide draw. He should find the 'A' lane and be too good. Winter form was around some very smart types!

Sale R6 No.3 - BOB OF THE HEAD
Was easy in the betting fresh and certainly looked like a horse needing a gallop when returning fresh at Geelong two weeks ago (1100m), settled well back in the field but did manage to sustain a good burst to hit the line with some authority. That race rated very well on the day (winner since stiff not to win race in town) and think this fella takes good benefit and improves to the 1200m. Expect him to find the PR of the race (box seat) from the draw and with even luck take beating. Likes when he can get his toe into the deck and second-up last prep spring-boarded and beat a smart one at Cranbourne!

Warwick Farm R4 No.4 - TATOOSH
Nice horse this who just found the top-liners in his latest prep/the autumn a bit too classy for him, he didn't disgrace himself by any means (ran the G1 standard He's Our Rokkii to 6 lengths at G3 level) but a race of this nature is much more suitable. Was fairly impressed by his trial recently at Scone (9/9 - 900m) when he scooted around in slick time and did it comfortably. Also a big tick to the booking of B.Shinn and the draw seems favourable, he's primed to run a bottler fresh and rates good enough to get the job done.
