Swan Hill R2 No.10 - LITTLESNITZ

Liked the run at Moe three weeks ago over the 1200m on a bog track (race rated ok), she made her only luck rolling forward on a day when it was certainly favourable to those making ground down the outside (pattern didn't suit). Think from the wide draw/a track that suits on-pacers she'll find things more in her favour this afternoon, expect her to cross and find the fence, turn it into a genuine test and be too strong.

Next Best: Swan Hill R3 No.1 - BURRUMS BUZZ

Nice style of horse that who has gone well in two career runs to date, debut was in a slick race here back in June, he made significant ground and only went down narrowly to the city-class Indiana Wolf (against pattern). Has trialled up well on heavy tracks previously in the past so suggest that won't be an issue today and think theres good pace in the race. If he can position up midfield and find a cart into the race, he's got a final 400m split that'll be good enough to mow them down.

Moonee Valley R2 No.4 - GRAND DREAMER

Nice horse this, thought his effort at Sandown two weeks ago when making ground behind two tear-away leaders was impressive, pattern favoured those on-speed and he was probably ridden a touch close. He did wobble about a bit (should really have won) so prepared to say he's clearly going well. Back around The Valley doesn't hurt him, produced a strong rating when winning here a month ago over the mile and suggest with the rail out +5m he should find the lane off the fence and be good enough to storm home over the top. Early speed looks genuine.

Best Bet: Moonee Valley R3 No.4 - EGYPT

Produced a fairly outstanding performance two weeks ago second-up/to 1400m in the G2 Lets Elope at Flemington, came from near on last and had traffic issues when making her run. Think she finds her peak physically here third-up and the mile clearly looks like it'll suit her down to the ground at this point of the prep. Can take closer order from the friendly marble (should find the PR) and really be too good for a fairly even bunch of mares.

Best Roughie: Moonee Valley R5 No.7 - ROCKET TOMMY

He's a nice horse this fella who's been winning on the provincial with great ease and been running very slick times while he's at it. Win fresh at Mildura over the 1000m was soft under the circumstances, again landed on the bunny and despite being easy in the market (had improvement) was just too good for them. Came into that only off the one trial so think he again finds 1-2 lengths on that. Has the speed to find the front and turn it into a brutal 955m dash, huge overs considering he rates right into this!

Moonee Valley R6 No.4 - MY COUNTRY

Filly was enormous when having her first look down the Flemington straight, led them up/tough to do and was only nabbed late by a fellow Sydney sider. Takes good benefit physically and is certainly an improver second-up (last prep spiked to win at Stakes level in Brisbane), think she has the chance to slot in behind the leaders from the wide draw, speed looks genuine so she could be the one with the drop on them late. 1200m suits!

Moonee Valley R8 No.14 - CHAMPAGNE READY

Mare won fresh in visually impressive style at Sandown three weeks ago over the 1400m, got well back (on a day that suited on-pace) and managed to rattle home to just grab them with a big final furlong. Race rated ok, too, runner-up is a nice horse but just can't seem to crack it. Interesting they drop back to the 1200m, she does draw well so fancy they'll be much more positive from the alley (might find the box-seat) and if they run along she's good enough to be the one pouncing late. Progressive mare on the up against some fairly 'exposed' types.
