No 2 GRINCHEUX (NEXT BEST BET) defeated a subsequent winner in a maiden victory last start. Looks capable of working through the grades and is definitely the one to beat.

FOX TALES (BEST BET) showed a lot of promise in two runs in his first preparation and had plenty on a benchmark 55 field at Canberra resuming. Looks right up to this grade and the one to beat again.

JUST LIKE STRATUM (BEST ROUGHIE) wasn't far from the winner at Scone when resuming and did cover ground in the run. Is a winner at this track and distance and won second-up last preparation.

Race 6 3:39pm RTS THOROUGHBREDS PTY LTD F&M BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200m

MISS ELLY MAY was an impressive all the way winner on debut at Newcastle Beaumont. Looks capable of working through the grades and a winning chance again.

ELLE SNITZ was just a run short for the 1300m first-up at Hawkesbury. Fitter here and the slightly shorter journey in her favour.

MARTHA MARY resumes without a trial. Won three races last preparation and has to be respected fresh from a good gate.

DOLLY'S DUE hasn't missed a place in four starts and a Moruya winner. Steps up to provincial grade but still scope for improvement.

LONG JUAN FENG chasing the hat-trick after successive Bathurst wins. Steps up to provincial grade but plenty of scope for improvement and hard to knock the winning form.

BOOTLEGGING well beaten at Wagga last start but stays under notice on Highway Handicap win at Randwick two runs back. The drier track in his favour.

PETER JOHN Muswellbrook winner only run in his first preparation and found himself in the worst ground at Nowra resuming. Set to improve sharply second-up from a good gate.

LAD ABOUT TOWN runner-up three of last four. Has a good record at this track and distance and a must for the exotics.

SELECTIONS: No2 LONG JUAN FENG, No1 Bootlegging, No8 Peter John, No7 Lad About Town
Long Juan Feng - 1pt @ 2.80

Race 8 4:59pm KEMBLA GRANGE CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 2000m

THE GAVEL has placed in five of his six starts to date. Racing like the step up in distance will help and gets the chance to go one better.

SILOM ROAD didn't get the best of runs at Warwick Farm last start. Wyong maiden win two runs back when he defeated a subsequent winner rates well for this.

CHAKANA found the fast lane to win at Newcastle Beaumont two runs back before finishing runner-up at Scone. Nothing to suggest she won't be in the finish again.

PERFECT SEASON led all the way to win his maiden at Wyong last start. Just needs even luck in running from the gate to be right in the finish again.

SELECTIONS: No9 THE GAVEL, No2 Silom Road, No5 Chakana, No3 Perfect Season
The Gavel - 1pt @ 2.40
