The track has been rated a Good 4, but with clear hot days forecast there's little doubt it will be upgraded, so look for horses who appreciate firm surfaces.
The track has been rated a Good 4, but with clear hot days forecast there's little doubt it will be upgraded, so look for horses who appreciate firm surfaces. The rail is in the 3m position, shifting out from 0.5m position at last Saturday's meeting. Generally, horses on pace or those racing close to the fence have an advantage when the track is bone dry as it's likely to be for this meeting.

As was the case with last week's juvenile races, betting moves will shed plenty of light on the likely outcome.
There are good reports beginning to surface for the ability of PINCH PASSION. He hasn't trialled officially but whispers are becoming noisier that he's a smart performer. If the money starts to flow for him, it will be worth following.
WICKED EXPRESS is from the Liam Birchley stable, who has a great record with juveniles. Apprentice Jimmy Orman has the mount and he hinted after riding Real Princess for the stable last week that there are several that are better performers, which ensures the focus will be kept on this colt.
PURE LUCK is a big, leggy type with a huge stride for a juvenile and scored in emphatic fashion at his only start at Toowoomba a fortnight ago. The filly he beat, Real Princess, won at Doomben last Saturday so the form has been franked. Race experience is a huge advantage for two-year-olds and he has it.
WIRRAWAY hasn't trialled publicly but trainer Kelso Wood has put the blinkers on for his first start, which indicates he's had a jump-out at some stage of his prep.
It's also worth keeping a close watch on the Tony Gollan-trained first starter SHE'S OUR STAR.
SELECTIONS: NO 7 PINCH PASSION, NO 8 WICKED EXPRESS, NO 1 PURE LUCK, NO 9 WIRRAWAY.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 9 WIRRAWAY.

Not an easy race for punters to sort out with plenty of chances.
NEARCTIC CHILLER beat an average field at the Sunshine Coast last start but he was never out of first gear and indicated he was capable of winning in stronger company. Trainer Stuart Kendrick has found an ideal race for him and with Tiffani Brooker's claim he drops a hefty 7.5kg on the weight he carried last time. He should be able to roll forward and either lead or take a position close to the pace. With his light weight he'll be able to produce a good kick in the straight.
DECONSTRUCTED has been a nightmare for punters to follow. He ran fourth at Eagle Farm last Saturday but blew his chances from the outset when he missed the start by several lengths. However, there are several important factors in his favour this time. He's drawn perfectly, loves this track and distance, and has champion jockey Damian Browne aboard.
I'LL TAKE THE JAG had to carry the grandstand last time at the Gold Coast but didn't shirk his task. He drops 3kg here with in-form jockey Jeff Lloyd aboard.
Expect major improvement from HIT THE ROAD JACK. He was never in the right spot at Eagle Farm and it's always worth forgiving anything that flops on that track. He goes much better at Doomben and this looks to be a much better race for him.
LORD COCONUTS did everything right first-up when he won at Ipswich and is drawn perfectly with 2.5kg less to carry.
SELECTIONS: NO 13 NEARCTIC CHILLER, NO 2 DECONSTRUCTED, NO 3 I'LL TAKE THE JAG, NO 10 HIT THE ROAD JACK.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 10 HIT THE ROAD JACK.

Looks a perfect race for BITHARD (Next Best Bet). He put the writing on the wall last start when a fast-finishing second over 1000m at Eagle Farm. The extra 200m here and the addition of blinkers looks absolutely ideal. There is plenty of pace up front in this race which should enable jockey Jeff Lloyd to find a position around midfield and give him the last crack at them in the straight.
SELECTIONS: NO 3 BITHARD, NO 1 NICCONI LEGGERA, NO 10 BEAUDACIOUS, NO 9 RUMBA QUEEN.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 10 BEAUDACIOUS.

Trainer Toby Edmonds has talented mare BOUND FOR LOVE absolutely flying this campaign. She's drawn a touch awkwardly but jockey Jeff Lloyd is known for his aggressive riding style so he should be able to push forward and find a good spot by the time they hit the back straight. She's undefeated at the mile and mares in form are always worth following when they are racing so well.
KAISER FRANZ is a good roughie to include in multiples. He ran a solid fourth to in-form sprinter Monsieur Gustave in a fast time over 1400m at Eagle Farm. The form out of that race is excellent and the step up to the mile is only going to help him.
TESTASHADOW will have plenty of admirers despite unplaced efforts at his past couple of runs. Last time out he was beaten less than two lengths in a Group 3 race at Randwick, finishing just behind the likes of classy types Happy Clapper and Federal, which is excellent form for this race.
No one could've missed the run last week of SEA RED. She was run off her legs over the 1350m but ate up the ground late to be beaten only half a length into fourth place. The extra trip on the seven-day back-up is perfect and the track will be firm, which is what she needs.
Others worth including in multiples are TERONADO and BODEGA NEGRA.
SELECTIONS: NO 9 BOUND FOR LOVE, NO 8 KAISER FRANZ, NO 1 TESTASHADOW, NO 7 SEA RED.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 8 KAISER FRANZ.

Trainer Matthew Dunn dual accepted with HANWRITTEN (Best Bet) before settling on this race, which is a good lead for punters. This gelding has been lightly raced due to injury earlier in his career but he produced an outstanding effort to win at Randwick last time when he travelled sweetly before showing a great turn of foot. Another impressive aspect of that victory was the brilliant time he ran. The extra 200m here won't pose a problem at all and if he turns up in similar shape to his last win, the race looks his for the taking.

MAGIC LOVE didn't have much luck when third at Ipswich last start after being caught three deep without cover most of the way. She didn't shirk her task and the 5kg weight drop sees her attractively placed in this race. She won her previous two starts in impressive style and leading jockey Jeff Lloyd has kept faith in her.
STELLA OMBRA arguably should've won his last start at Eagle Farm when he bungled the start but finished off strongly in the straight to finish a close third. Although he's drawn a bit awkwardly, his racing pattern is to get back anyway and he should be winding up strongly at the finish.
SAINT HUGO (Best Roughie) was disappointing last time but that was her first run back from a let-up and she's much better than that. It could be a case of forgiving her one bad run and assessing her on her runaway win at the Gold Coast at her previous start.
BIDII BABE will attract plenty of punter interest after her impressive first-up win at Eagle Farm. She conceded race fitness to her rivals that day but was simply too strong and with the benefit of that run under her belt will ensure she's right on song for this race.
It's also worth including MOST IMPORTANT in multiples because he seldom runs a bad race and is drawn perfectly.

It's impossible to fault the form of DENONINATOR, who is going from strength to strength this campaign. There looks to be plenty of speed in the race which will enable jockey Jeff Lloyd to bide his time leaving the barriers, look for a spot one off the fence just worse than midfield and bring him with a well-timed finish in the straight, just as he did last time at Eagle Farm.
ANNAMAN was a tragedy beaten last week. Everything was going to plan until entering the back straight when his rider handed up the lead to a roughie and was shuffled back to near last approaching the home turn. He flew home to be beaten a nose and undoubtedly should've won easily.
THE ILIAD handled his first test beyond a mile easily last start when he won at Eagle Farm. He got a soft lead that day and simply out-sprinted his rivals but is versatile enough to sit off the pace if the speed is hot.
LAST SIGHT is racing consistently in the lower grades and gives the impression the step up in trip won't pose a major problem. He attacked the line with gusto to win at Eagle Farm and will enjoy carrying 4kg less.
Others to include for multiples are LA SPIAGGIA and MR ONE ELEVEN.
SELECTIONS: NO 4 DENONINATOR, NO 15 ANNAMAN, NO 7 THE ILIAD, NO 13 LAST SIGHT.
VALUE RUNNER: 13 LAST SIGHT.

There were genuine excuses for the last-start defeat of MR WIND at Eagle Farm. He bungled the start then wanted to race erratically when trapped off the track. The pleasing aspect of that run was he kept trying all the way to the line against much more experienced rivals. The wide alley is a concern but he returns to the scene of his stunning debut-win when he beat his rivals pointlessly.
POWERFUL SAGA maps beautifully from his perfect barrier. On face value he had his chance at Eagle Farm but jockey Damian Browne takes the mount here, which is a key riding change.
NILETTE hasn't looked back since joining the in-form Robert Heathcote stable. She has won both starts for him this campaign and although her win last start might have been flattering on a deteriorating wet track she's proved just as effective on top of the ground.
GRACIDA has the talent to win the race, it's just a matter of what sort of mindset he's in on the day. He's played up in the barriers and been a late scratching more than once but with the addition of the barrier blanket for this race, hopefully he'll be more settled.
Keep an eye on betting for DESERT MAN, who is first-up from a long spell but showed plenty of ability in his initial racing campaign.
SELECTIONS: NO 14 MR WIND, NO 9 POWERFUL SAGA, NO 10 NILETTE, NO 4 GRACIDA.

An absolutely sensational race to finish the day, with four last-start winners who won by decisive margins (running fast times) set to clash.
MONSIEUR GUSTAVE has been sweeping all before him lately and he looks perfectly placed again. Although he was starting to feel the pinch at the end of the race when he won last time out at Eagle Farm, he was entitled to as he worked like a Trojan early from a wide barrier before dashing clear soon after straightening. Jockey Jeff Lloyd can take full advantage of the gelding's ideal alley and take up the front-running role. He's been winning by clear margins and running fast times lately, which is always a great sign.
PRIVLAKA won't be any pushover. He should be able to stalk Monsieur Gustave all the way and he impressed first-up at Eagle Farm when he broke the track record for 1000m. Trainer Robert Heathcote is adamant he will handle the step up in distance.
MAGIC I AM enjoyed bowling along in the lead at Eagle Farm when she carved out some impressive sectionals before scoring a dominant win. It won't be as easy for her this time but she's well weighted and rock solid in condition.
PEPPERANO was a class above her rivals in easier grade last week but the manner in which she scored suggested this race is well within her scope. Going up in grade, she again drops in weight, which will ensure she's highly competitive. It would be a major surprise if anything outside this quartet won the race.
SELECTIONS: NO 9 MONSIEUR GUSTAVE, NO 10 PRIVLAKA, NO 14 MAGIC I AM, NO 16 PEPPERANO.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 14 MAGIC I AM.
