Best Bet: Geelong R1 No.4 - EXCLAMATION
Comes out of the right sort of race at Mornington two weeks ago when only nabbed late by the promising Natch, he set a good gallop in transit and race shape suited those making ground (ran time comparable to BM64 later in the day). His effort to stick on was game and with that in mind like he draws out here. Should find the front and with the rail true/poly track it should be fairly difficult to make ground early. If he finds the front he should be winning.

Geelong R3 No.8 - NORTH SKY
Two trials leading up to his return have been very good, latest was a month ago at Wangaratta where he travelled sweetly and went down narrowly to then highly competitive All The Wine (has rated ok!). Think he gets the PR of the race from gate 3 and his first prep form is good enough to beat this lot. If he's any sort of horse he'll win this.

Geelong R5 No.3 - SWISS KISS
Totally forgive failure at Moonee Valley two weeks ago when she got well out of her ground (race over), her run prior to that at Moonee Valley was exceptional when making ground against the pattern at Sandown. Suspect with the 3kg claim from Riordan and the wide draw they'll be much more positive early. If she can take a spot in top 4 at the top of the straight she rates to just be too good.

Next Best: Geelong R7 No.1 - SIMES GIRL
Nice mare returning to the races for the first-time since earlier this year, win on debut was very good (and rated well!) at Ballarat over the 1100m, think if she returned a rating similar to that she'd be mighty hard to beat. Was totally forgiving when she had an issue second-up in good company at Pakenham, think with natural progression/maturity she can return a winner at this sort of grade and might be able to string together a few in the provincials!

Cranbourne R1 No.12 - MISS DUBOIS
Enormous first-up over 1700m at Sale in what wasn't a bad race at all, winner is a smart conveyance and went to Flemington next start and wasn't disgraced. Clearly a better horse to 2000m (made ground v. the pattern on that occasion) and with speed engaged inthe race he should slot in nicely midfield and just be too strong for them late. Rates clearly superior to this lot.

Cranbourne R4 No.11 SOVIET SECRET
Nice filly who's competed with some elite-level gallopers in her first-two race preparations. Fresh at Randwick over 1200m back on February she just missed in a $250,000 race, then went to Flemington and was good down the straight (worst part of the going) before making a trip back to Randwick and hitting the line nicely off an average tempo. Expect with time she's matured physically and her two trials for this resumption have both been v. good, she swims through the soft going and should just be a bit too good.
