R1 12.32pm TILAND CONSTRUCTION PTY LTD QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP 1600m

The stable has a big opinion of MEADOW, who made short work of a midweek maiden field at her last start. This is much harder but the stable is talking about the Australian and Queensland Oaks next year. It would be a surprise if she didn't run well here.

BALBOA ROCKS has been most consistent of late and goes up only 0.5kgs for his last start impressive win. He will run a strong 1600m and any rain would be a bonus.

However, don't be shocked if SPRING TYCOON beats them all. He didn't have much luck when unplaced last start behind Balboa Rocks. The reports on him out of Caloundra are that he is extra smart. He has won two trials and a maiden at that track.

KUBIS ran very well last start at this track. He was only caught by Balboa Rocks right on the line. He meets Balboa Rocks better at the weights so has a real chance here in a tricky race.

We don't want to tip the entire field but there is also a tip around for MOLA RAM at good odds.

SELECTIONS: NO7 MEADOW, NO1 BALBOA ROCKS, NO 3 SPRING TYCOON, NO 2 KUBIS.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 5 MOLA RAM.

R2 1.13pm LITE N' EASY QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD COLTS AND GELDINGS HANDICAP 1000m

These early season races are always hard to predict because Queensland does not make it compulsory for two-year-olds to trial publically before racing.

However, on what we know, EXCELEBRAZIONE has plenty of ability. After being green when last at his first start he trialled well and then was very good when second last start. He is drawn well and has race experience. The only down side is he isn't very big and has 58kgs.

PORCINI has trialled well and is drawn in the middle of the field which should suit.

CLAIRVUE was scratched two weeks ago to make his debut here. He is well bred and went okay in a jump out, or so we are told.

SAXTON ROCK went well in a trial but has drawn badly. He is from a top stable, who usually start their two-year-olds in the provincial areas if they are no good.

WIRRAWAY was going strongly at the 250m last start when he copped a bump. He still finished fourth but will be good odds here because of his poor barrier.

SELECTIONS: NO 1 EXCELEBRAZIONE, NO 9 PORCINI, NO 5 CLAIRVUE, NO 10 SAXTON ROCK.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 12 WIRRAWAY.

R3 1.57pm MOUNT ALVERNIA COLLEGE NO METRO WINS HANDICAP 1000m

INVINCIBLE EXPRESS (BEST BET) has been very impressive at the midweek meetings. She carried a big weight but ran a sensational time when winning at the Gold Coast over 900m. The step up in distance is not a worry and she is dropping sharply in weight. The barrier looks perfect because she won't get caught right on the fence if it is "off". This isn't a very strong race and the stable are talking about her as a future topliner. Also her sire I Am Invincible has been in sensational form as a win producer in the past month.

SELECTIONS: NO 9 INVINCIBLE EXPRESS, NO 7 ARCHYTAS, N0 4 ALPEN ROSE, NO 2 MOSS HARRY.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 12 BANDA SPICE.
INVINCIBLE EXPRESS - 1pt @ 2.25

R4 2.39pm AITKENVALE FAMILY HEALTH CENTRE FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1200m

SHAMFRANCISCO will need some luck from the wide barrier but on form is the one to beat as she is going for four wins from last five starts here. She does have the pace to get into a good position and isn't all that badly off at the weights.

ALASKAN WOLF scored a very strong win at the Gold Coast last start after coming from a wide barrier. This type of race suits and there looks to be plenty of pace which should suit.

SHEISWHATSHEIS was just okay first-up in a tougher race. But she does go very well second up and is a class mare when she is on song.

Her stablemate NOTONYOURLIFE was strong at the finish when a winner at Doomben last start and is finally showing her early potential. She is nicely drawn and well weighted here.

COL 'N' LIL is the class runner here and is having her first start since getting well beaten in the Group Two Brisbane Cup over 2400m. She has won twice first up and not badly weighted after the 3kgs claim.

SELECTIONS: NO 2 SHAMFRANCISCO, NO 4 ALASKAN WOLF, NO 6 SHEISWHATSHEIS, NO 5 NOTONYOURLIFE.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 1 COL 'N' LIL.

R5 3.24pm WEARECO BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP 2406m

We don't know whose idea it was to make this the first leg of the quadrella but it isn't one of the best decisions we have seen. These races are always very weak with the better horses asked to carry big weights and the lesser horses being basically walkers.

JUST KEEP GIVING had no luck whatsoever last start when forced to lead after over-racing early. The previous start when he got cover he charged home and should have won. Looks to be drawn to get cover here so give another chance.

LEVER LEVER would probably run second in the Melbourne Cup as he has been runner-up seven times and won only three races. But he will run a strong 2400m and that is a plus against these.

MONT DE LOIR was strong at the finish last start and looks a hope again.

TRALEE CHORUS (BEST ROUGHIE) is stepping up sharply in distance but was a strong winner at 1800m last start. Settles in his races which is a big plus.

SELECTIONS: NO 10 JUST KEEP GIVING, NO 7 LEVER LEVER, NO 11 MONT DE LOIR, NO 6 TRALEE CHORUS.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 6 TRALEE CHORUS.

R6 4.09pm HILLROSS MONTEFIORE & CO CLASS 3 PLATE 1830m

This start is on a bend and if you backed a horse from further out than barrier (5) on the old track you might as well have set fire to your money. But for some reason the barriers are not all that important on the new surface.

SAGA MISS went from being a Class 2 horse to winning a midweek open at 1800m last start at the Gold Coast (it is jumping about seven classes). She does look well placed at the trip in this class. Only worry would be any rain at all. She is a complete duffer on wet tracks.

SCRABBLE came from a mile back last start and made up a lot of ground. He races as though 1800m will be ideal.

COURT'S STAR was very brave when second here at his last start and he does like the 1800m distance. Only worry is his big weight.

UNASSUMING has been honest of late and is a winner this track. She has also won at 1800m and has a light weight after the 3kgs claim. She will get back in the field but should be in the finish.

SELECTIONS: NO 8 SAGA MISS, NO 12 SCRABBLE, NO 1 COURT'S STAR, NO 10 UNASSUMING.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 10 UNASSUMING.

R7 4.52pm PADUA COLLEGE OPEN HANDICAP 1400m

FRESPANOL was just okay at his first run this area. But he is much better suited at 1400m and he is a stakes winner and a Sydney winner. The 2kgs claim for Lani Fancourt is also an advantage for him. From the good barrier he should be a lot closer than last time here.

SALUTER is a very honest horse and not that badly placed with the 3kgs claim. He would probably want a soft lead like last time to win here but still a hope.

ONE INCH PUNCH has been racing for a long while this campaign but holding his form. He drops substantially in weight here after the 3kgs claim and he wasn't far away when fourth last time.

JOPA is one of the most honest horses in Australia but has never won in 16 goes at Eagle Farm. But on his current form you would leave him out of the chances at your own peril.

ALLKNIGHT SAINT is another who hasn't won at Eagle Farm but his first-up run was good and he generally goes better second-up.

SELECTIONS: NO 2 FRESPANOL, NO 1 SALUTER, NO 8 ONE INCH PUNCH, NO 3 JOPA.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 9 ALLKNIGHT SAINT.

R8 5.30pm JIM MCKEERING REAL ESTATE COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1200m

MAN OF HIS WORD (NEXT BEST BET) is back from Sydney where he would have had to be Bernborough to win. It was a good effort from him as he got too far out of his ground. Back in Brisbane in a race where there is a stack of pace he gets his chance to atone. He won a similar race to this at Eagle Farm three starts back when there was a strong pace. His only other start on this track he was a good thing beaten. He has the leading jockey here and a handy barrier so should be closer in the run.

SELECTIONS: NO 5 MAN OF HIS WORD, NO 3 MOST IMPORTANT, NO 8 IN HIS STRIDE, NO 1 TOP TONE.

VALUE RUNNER: NO 8 IN HIS STRIDE.
