Sunday, 3pm, Westpac Stadium

With nothing left to play for, Wellington’s results have become increasingly difficult to predict. We fancied them, draw no bet at least, hosting Adelaide a fortnight ago but they subsequently lost 4-0 at home. Then last week, in a tricky looking match on paper, they wound up 3-1 winners at Sydney. What can’t be denied is that their defence is increasingly leaky as the season heads to a conclusion. They’ve conceded in nine in-a-row and seven of the matches have featured at least four goals.

That leaky Phoenix defence is sure to be tested here. Perth Glory make the long trip east in fantastic form. They’ve won seven of their last eight league matches and they’ve led at half-time in all the victories. The visitors have scored in 15 consecutive A League matches and seven of the matches have had at least four goals.

Wellington’s home form this season reads W4-D2-L4 with four Over 3.5 Goals matches. Despite the 5000+ mile journey for Perth, Phoenix have struggled in this head to head as they are winless since 2012/13. Looking at both home and away matches, Perth have scored in the last nine editions while Wellington have failed to net just once. Goals are expected here but they seem a little underpriced given the worry-free football Wellington are playing at the moment.
