Central Coast Mariners know how to find the back of the net on their travels, there will be goals tonight.
Western Sydney Wanderers v Central Cost Mariners
The Wanderers have now managed just one goal in their last three and only two wins in their last eight as their form’s tailed off towards the end of the season. Five of these games were on the road and the Wanderers will be glad to return to the Parramatta Stadium, where they’ve had a W7-D2-L3 record this season. However they’ve won just two of their last six, having won five in a row prior to that. Their record when hosting bottom-three teams this term is W2-D0-L1 with wins over the Jets and Wellington, before the latter got revenge a few weeks ago with a remarkable 5-2 win.
The Mariners’ defeat at Adelaide was their seventh in eight games and their 18th in 25 games so far in what’s been a wretched season for them. They once again managed to find the net against Adelaide but the four goals they conceded now takes their tally for the season up to 62 (2.5 gpg). Their away record is W1-D1-L10 as they only avoided defeat against fellow strugglers Wellington and Newcastle. They have however managed to score in 10 of their 12 road matches and in five of their six trips to top-four teams. They conceded at least three times in five of these six games, but only trailed at the break in half.
The Wanderers have conceded 11 goals in their last five home games, having conceded just two in their six prior to that. As a result, we expect the Mariners to continue their strong record of finding the net on the road, but for them to slump to yet another defeat in this one.
